Within a few days it will be SKETCHtember with a new sketch challenge every day for the month over on the Challenges thread. Cardmakers are welcome to play along if a sketch speaks to you for a card.
But the following month--CARDtober is all about cardmaking! A new card making challenge and sample every day for 31 days. That event will be hosted on this board.
So you have a month to stock up on card making supplies and clear a space on your scrap desk to take part in all the fun.
We already have a few Peas volunteering to host one day (as in every Monday for the month of October) each. But we will need at least one additional host. The night before each of YOUR days, the host sets up a new thread with a card challenge and at least one sample. As people take on that challenge, they share pic's of their takes in that thread, and the host keeps the conversation going. If you are interested in jumping in, please let me know and I can add you to the planning group PM.

I'm all signed up.
Its fun to create challenges.
We usually create a series of 4 or 5.
You can go with color combo, sketch, technique...etc challenges. And a twist.
Its not hard to do it at all.
And we are all happy to help the newbie host.
So I hope that someone will be up for it!!!

If anyone would like to split a day of the week with me, please give a holler. I have 2 getaways in October, so I cannot commit to once a week for a month, but would happily do 2 during the month. The days of the week with openings are Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.

Three days in a row might be a bit overwhelming for a new host, and there are only 4 Fridays. However, the first Friday (Fridays are my days) will be a bit more challenging for me, so I could give up Oct. 7th for one of the missing days later in the month, but I can’t do any earlier for the first week of CARDtober.

I could do the first and last Friday of the month. Sounds like both those days would be helpful?

Thank you for the offer, MichyM, but I no longer have a conflict that first Friday, and Fridays are the only day of the week that I can host. The other days are far more problematic for me. Last I heard, grammadee was looking for card makers to host Tuesdays and/or Saturdays, but I’m hoping she will clarify what days still need to be covered. You make gorgeous cards, MichyM, and I know you will be a great addition to the CARDtober hosts, whichever days you take! |
