Interesting opinion piece. I am only posted the last three paragraphs.. goes back to 'their' sense of lost masculinity, their obsession of what do with our bodies and how. So-called conservatives dehumanize liberals with horrifying and hateful epithets, calling them "cucks," cannibals, "groomers" and pedophiles — again, tellingly sexual insults — while leaders of the Southern Baptist Convention, the largest Protestant denomination in the country, have a massive, far-reaching sex scandal to face up to. In his seminal 1964 essay "The Paranoid Style in American Politics — which famously begins, "American politics has often been an arena for angry minds" — Richard Hofstadter noted that sexual obsessions are frequently projected on one's political opponents, to build a case that they are inhuman or unacceptable: [T]he sexual freedom often attributed to the enemy, his lack of moral inhibition, his possession of especially effective techniques for fulfilling his desires, give exponents of the paranoid style an opportunity to project and express unacknowledged aspects of their own psychological concerns. In the face of all the grim, twisted, hateful and self-hating moralism from the right, liberals and progressives must reclaim their mojo as celebrants of the beauty and joy of life, as Salon's Amanda Marcotte argued a few months ago. Masculinity and femininity need not be prisons or traps or destinies. Those supposed poles, and all points in between, are available to all of us as we go through life figuring out who we are. Isn't that wonderful? www.rawstory.com/republicans-manhood/#cxrecs_s

Just more threats from maga.. “NARA has received messages from the public accusing us of corruption and conspiring against the former President, or congratulating NARA for ‘bringing him down,’” acting archivist Debra Steidel Wall explained in an email to staff this week, according to the Washington Post. “Neither is accurate or welcome." www.rawstory.com/national-archives-under-threat/

Here's the full WaPo article. Long, but worth reading. Gift article - No paywall. I wasn't aware NARA tried to get the documents before he left the White House. Or that he travelled with boxes of documents. Or that there still might be more documents. We may never know what secrets he sold to foreign adversaries. www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2022/08/27/trump-archives-records-war/?gftaInside Trump’s war on the National Archives The agency has been hit with a wave of threats and vitriol since the FBI retrieved scores of classified records from Trump’s Mar-a-Lago Club The Archives battle to secure records from Trump began while he was still president, according to records reviewed by The Post. Gary M. Stern, the agency’s top lawyer, began asking the former president’s attorneys to return two dozen boxes in the residency of the White House before he left. In an email Stern wrote to others, Trump’s counsel, Pat Cipollone, agreed with him. But Trump did not return them.“Any documents that made it to the White House residence were these boxes Trump carried around with him,” explained Stephanie Grisham, a former senior White House staffer. “Usually the body man would have brought them upstairs for Trump or someone from the outer-Oval at the end of the day. They would get handed off to the residence and just disappear.” 'He never stopped ripping things up': Inside Trump's relentless document destruction habits Boxes of documents even came with Trump on foreign travel, following him to hotel rooms around the world — including countries considered foreign adversaries of the United States. “There was no rhyme or reason — it was classified documents on top of newspapers on top of papers people printed out of things they wanted him to read. The boxes were never organized,” Grisham said. “He’d want to get work done on long trips so he’d just rummage through the boxes. That was our filing system.” But the Archive’s work may not yet be done: Some NARA officials believe that there might still be more records missing, according to a person familiar with the matter. “Our fundamental interest is always in ensuring that government records are properly managed, preserved, and protected to ensure access to them for the life of the Republic,” Steidel Wall told her staff in her email. “We will continue to do our work, without favor or fear, in the service of our democracy.”

All they will have in the end will be masses of stupified people, parched earth, flooded lands, no affordable crops and dumb kids who will not be able to faced their lives. What good will their fortunes be then? @foxy Yes they also tend to lack any foresight. Or care really.

If they are talking about Lindsey Graham’s phone call to whoever in Georgia about their election results, how exactly is that a US Senator from a different state doing his job?

This is a long Twitter thread, but totally worth the read. She's going to continue laying it all out, too.

Based on what I guess is his reasoning then it should be applied to the 2016 and Hillary would be the winner of the 2016 election. Which would mean trump should not have been president.
If he thinks the FBI downplayed Hunter Biden and his laptop was massive fraud etc, what in blazes would you call what Jason Chaffetz did when he leaked the Comey letter which forced Comey to make it public 11 days before the election about the candidate that clearly was ahead in the polls? And then it turned out to be about nothing.

I'm so sorry he has big legal fees. No one made him do it!! Far-right pro-Trump activist Ali Alexander says that his ability to impact the upcoming midterm elections will be limited due to massive legal bills he's incurring as a result of his organizing the infamous "Stop the Steal" rally that preceded the January 6th Capitol riots. In an interview with the Nebraska Examiner flagged by Law and Crime, Alexander outlined all of the legal challenges he's faced since pro-Trump rioters stormed the Capitol, including an investigation conducted by the House Select Committee investigating the riots, as well as a civil lawsuit filed by police officers who were injured by the rioters. I testified for the J6 like committee for eight hours," he said. "It was the longest or second-longest verbal testimony. I had to testify before the grand jury that’s investigating the alternate electors. I’m dealing with a lot of lawfare, a hundred thousand dollars in legal bills, juggling four different lawyers.” www.rawstory.com/ali-alexander-2657959259/
