On Tuesday, Local 10 News reported that Joe Martinez, a Republican commissioner of Miami-Dade County in Florida, turned himself into authorities and was arrested on bribery charges.

The longtime elected official faces two felony counts: unlawful compensation and conspiracy to commit unlawful compensation. Investigators say Martinez received money from a Miami-Dade business owner in exchange for crafting legislation that would have helped that business avoid several code violations," said the report. "According to an arrest affidavit, the allegations date back to when Martinez was re-elected to the county commission back in 2016, following a four-year hiatus."

Habba's court filing also features a sworn affidavit from Trump where he says he "authorized Alina Habba to search my private residence and personal office located at The Mar-a-Lago Club in Palm Beach, Florida for any and all documents responsive to the Subpoena."

The reason this matters, writes Politico, is that Habba told the court that she searched for documents in many of the locations that would subsequently be searched by FBI agents who found that the twice-impeached former president had stashed top secret government documents at the resort despite receiving a subpoena to turn them over.

"Just six days after Habba said she examined every corner of Mar-a-Lago, the Justice Department subpoenaed 'any and all documents or writings in the custody or control of Donald J. Trump and/or the Office of Donald J. Trump bearing classification markings,'" the publication writes. "After that subpoena was issued, Trump indicated that he responded by ordering staff to conduct a thorough search of the property for documents marked as classified."

Then he told the 'staff' to search and they found nothing.... Like staff was qualified to even touch top secret files?!?!

Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) has been embroiled in a difficult reelection campaign, only recently realizing that the voters in his state think he's he's a "tool of Vladimir Putin." The scandals got worse on Wednesday when confirmed that one of the fake Wisconsin electors works for his campaign.

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and American Independent revealed that Pam Travis was one of 10 Wisconsin Republicans who signed false documents.

Johnson spokesperson Alexa Henning called her a "grassroots staffer" who is tasked with "answering phones" and said that it's being "blown way out of proportion."

Her LinkedIn page says that she officially worked for Johnson starting in March 2022, and the Federal Election Commission reports for Johnson's campaign show that she's been paid just over $10,200 for her work. She also got a $3500 mileage reimbursement in May and July.

Well, we knew about Arizona and Meadows... Thanks Ginni, now Wisconsin, too?

The wife of U.S. Supreme Court justice Clarence Thomas emailed 29 Arizona state lawmakers, some of them twice, for weeks after Donald Trump's election loss, asking them to set aside Biden's popular vote win and select their own electors, and new emails show that she also sent messages to Wisconsin state Sen. Kathy Bernier and state Rep. Gary Tauchen asking them to do the same, reported the Washington Post.

Please stand strong in the face of media and political pressure,” Thomas said in emails sent Nov. 9, two days after major media organizations called the election for Biden. “Please reflect on the awesome authority granted to you by our Constitution. And then please take action to ensure that a clean slate of Electors is chosen for our state.”

Thomas was also in contact with Mark Meadows, then Trump's chief of staff, to discuss ways to overturn the election results, and she was in touch during the post-election period with right-wing attorney John Eastman, who is credited with drawing up the so-called "coup memo" that called for then-vice president Mike Pence to set aside the Electoral College results and recognize a slate of pro-Trump electors.
