Have you ever ordered one? Thoughts?
I didn’t even know she had card kits until Jennifer McGuire released a video using the Autumn Kit (up for presale now). I’m a sucker for ALL of the colors in the kit and florals.
(I’m actually probably a sucker for everything but what can I say?)
Let me know if you have any opinions, good or bad. Is it a good value? Do you get a lot of cards out of the kit? Do you end up using any of the products after you’ve finished with the kit? What do you think of her ink pads?

I love her inks. I haven’t tried one of her card kits.

I didn't realize she had kits, either! Off to Google...

Wow, it’s expensive. How do you use the die plate? I don’t see any examples.

It’s the first time they’ve manufactured that type of die. It cuts every piece of ephemera at once from a sheet of printed ephemera. On the website the sheet is to the right of the full coverage die. 12 sheets are in the kit, more can be purchased. (Your link brought me back to this page; could be weirdness on my end.) ginakdesigns.com/product/kit-autumn-splendor/?v=7516fd43adaaThe idea apparently evolved from a recent kit which included pre-cut ephemera for the first time. Fans wanted more, but it wasn’t readily available. She explains it at about 1 hour, 7 minutes on the reveal video: youtu.be/UKuMkCptJhg Not my thing, and guessing they’ll see how it’s received. Just fyi, when the next kit is sold, pieces from the previous kit are made available a la carte. I’ve never purchased a kit, but occasionally buy a couple pieces from it later. The pre-sale is just because a couple pieces for the kit hadn’t arrived on time. If I recall the six ink cubes are new colors; they’ll be released in full sized pads. Kits fairly frequently sell out the night of the live reveal. Some fans are fanatics. Gina does a lot of lives on FB and youtube.

Good question, MDscrapaholic. I was confused, too. Thought the plate was a stencil. Thanks for the explanation CardBoxerWouldn't it make the kit more usable if they also included a stamp that covered this space with all those images? That way you could stamp them all at once and then use the plate to cut them all with one pass. This way, once the pre printed sheets are used up the plate is not much use? Guess the plate could be used to MAKE a stencil, but seems an expensive way to go about this...

I’ve purchased a couple kits from her but they were years ago and very standard; stamps, dies and cardstock. I thought they were totally worth it.
I liked the rose kit with ink cubes she had a few months ago but it sold out too quick and I missed out. I agree that you get a lot for the money but I feel like there’s weird mismatched stuff in them lately. I’m not a huge fan of the ephemera, I just don’t care for that pre-printed look.
The kits do not typically get restocked but the bundles do. I LOVE the bundles and have most of them. My absolute favorite is the daisy bundle. The stenciled daisies are beautiful and the perfect size for a card.
I am a big fan of Gina K inks. I started with her cubes and liked them so much I bought all the full size pads. The pads are the typical felt pad, which I prefer. I think she has a good core color selection.

During the live some asked about stamps; she said no, but they’ll keep selling packs of the ephemera paper. 12 sheets in the kit make 215 pieces of ephemera. She may have said they were from the artist’s water color images so there were no files that would translate to stamps, or something like that? I’m not a big purple person but like some of those cubes since they have more blue. One reminds me of shaded lilac in Oxides, which I love, though you can’t be sure looking at a screen. I haven’t detected a difference in quality of her inks compared to some other companies’ felt-pad inks. For colors, her pastels may be a wee bit more toned down than those from some other companies—like The Stamp Market or Pink Fresh, for example. That’s not a criticism, just an observation.

Oh so good to see you CardBoxer. I missed you! You can always keep one ephemera page to make a copy of it at home.

I love that all of the components are made available separately later; Gina K doesn't seem to market by fomo. Even her incentive set that you get free with an order over $75 is available for sale when the new one comes out. I usually figure if I like one of the stamp sets with dies, that would cost about $50 on its own. Then I decide if the rest of the kit is worth $10 to me. Lately, they have been. Not going to lie, though - this one it was the layering stencil and inks. Not a huge fan of the ephemera & die. I like the Pinkfresh option with the die, washi, stamps, stencil and foil plate that all works together, and you can pick whatever pieces you think you'll use. As for her inks, love em. And her cardstock is a good weight. I have two companies that I usually order from every release. Gina K is one of them. Never had a complaint - except that the website gets really slow on release night

Guess the plate could be used to MAKE a stencil, but seems an expensive way to go about this... Exactly. While a copy could be made for die cutting, as azcrafty said, I’ve scanned preprinted images and/or a sheet of stamped and colored images that I didn’t want to have to color again. It can be difficult for your printer to give you the same colors, or as brilliant, even when tweaked in Photoshop. Printers and software are deliberately made NOT to give exact copies, to avoid someone printing counterfeit money. The image also isn’t quite as well defined, even if you manage to get the colors to be a close match. I’ve spent hours trying sometimes, and I have a really good printer. If you have to keep buying individual sheets, it’s a continued revenue source for her. A stamp is a one time purchase. It might be a great idea, but how many times are you going to use those same images, let alone everything from the whole sheet. What if you want different colors? I think some people will love it, and others won’t. I would fall into the latter category.

The ephmera is my favorite part of the kit. I just want it and the coordinating die. It should have occurred to me because I have a 6x6 paper pad I love that’s retired, so had made copies of a few of the papers, and was surprised at the excellent color match. (My ancient printer had bit the dust and the replacement Canon was targeted to crafters. 12x12 paper fits in the top/back, and they even have some patterns stored in it, though I haven’t really looked at them.) Glad you’ll be able to get your plate and ephemera when the next kit comes out without having to buy a kit, though 12 sheets/215 pieces may not be enough? 😄

I would prefer a stamp to the ephemera. I’d like the option to change the colors and like to color with Copics. Maybe she’ll include that in a future release?!?

She said there wouldn’t be a stamp set—that the originals are watercolors so there are no files to use for stamp manufacturing. Unless she was saying that about something else, but I don’t think so? Gina K and Tom are very savvy business owners, and depending on how the first batch of ephemera from the prior kit plus this plate/paper version sells could determine future decisions. I’ve never used ephemera user other than vintage or faux vintage (Tim Holtz Idea-ology) pieces, and that’s been rare. But it’s interesting watching something different come into the marketplace.
