I see that the 3rd in the Beartown trilogy, The winners, will be available soon. YES ! Can’t wait ! DUE 9/27/22 THE WINNERS (Sept ‘22 The Beartown Series #3) by Fredrik Backman. Two years have passed since the events that no one wants to think about. Everyone has tried to move on, but there’s something about this place that prevents it. The residents continue to grapple with life’s big questions: What is a family? What is a community? And what, if anything, are we willing to sacrifice in order to protect them? As the locals of Beartown struggle to overcome the past, great change is on the horizon. Someone is coming home after a long time away. Someone will be laid to rest. Someone will fall in love, someone will try to fix their marriage, and someone will do anything to save their children. Someone will submit to hate, someone will fight, and someone will grab a gun and walk towards the ice rink.

I've just finished The Yellow Wife. I liked it, felt it dragged in a few places and I definitely got frustrated with the main character at times. 4 stars.

As mentioned in the previous thread, I gave up a page into The Jungle. I think I need a complete idiot's guide to it. Just could not read it.
That said, I started The Butchering Art, and am really enjoying it. (I realize it may be too much for some folks, but it's fascinating!)
My husband and I have also been reading to each other at night, taking turns reading chapters. We recently re-read The Haunted Mask (yes, the RL Stein Goosebumps book), and we're just about done with Animal Farm. Not sure what our next read together will be.

I read The Bookish Life of Nina Hill by Abbi Waxman for book club. I didn't care for it, gave it 1 out of 5 stars.

I just finished Nora Goes Off Script. I would give it 4-4.5 stars. I really enjoyed it. Quick read.
