The other day I saw a video on Archer & Olive's Instagram sharing how someone sprays Scotchgard on their linen/fabric covered bullet journal and it occurred to me that it might be a good idea for protecting album covers from dirty fingers. Is that a thing people have tried? I don't have any fabric albums but I feel like I've heard people say they didn't want to buy lighter colored ones because they might get dirty. The video suggested doing a couple of light coats on the new cover and then refreshing it as needed.

I'm not familiar with Archer & Olive. I've thought about a spray or even mod podge but I worry about yellowing.

If you are concerned about yellowing, cover the damp area with diatomaceous earth. The yellowing will wick into the diatomaceous earth because the drying process is at the top. As the top dries, moisture rises into the dry. Once dry, just vacuum. This was the process I used to clean Haitian cotton furniture ... a long time ago.

I saw that also. I didn't even think about the fabric album covers. I do have a few light A&O notebooks, some are dark. I need to do an inventory. I would like to try this. I have noticed with constant use, the A&O I use for my reading journal looks dingy.

For my BUJO I use jelly or plastic covers that I found online. I have quite a few that are fabric covered. There is a shop on Etsy called Salty katie Co.
The best jelly covers out there. Her stitching can't be beat.

I wouldn’t want the chemicals of Scotch Guard in something I handle frequently. Isn’t that stuff full of the same toxic makeup that created Teflon? I’d rather have smudges.
