Welcome to Sketchtember! Your first sketch this year comes from the Hip Kit Club blog. And here's my take on it: I'll be sharing five sketches during Sept so for my twist this week I want to see you use 5 of something on your project. It can be five of anything: 5 photos, 5 word title, 5 patterned papers, 5 embellishment clusters, 5 colours, make 5 cards, anything as long as there are 5 of them. On my page I've used 5 wood veneer clouds. If you're playing with a quarterly team claim 5 points for using the sketch, one point for using the twist on any project, and a bonus of 2 points if you use the twist with this sketch. I can't wait to see what you create this month!

I love the sketch and just thought of pictures I can use with it.
And your sample is spectacular!! I absolutely love how you mirrored the clouds.

Love the sketch and your LO! Your story reminded me of a couple of sentimental (to me) little desk adornments I have. One of them bit the dust a few years ago, but the other is alive and well and I might have to scrap about it, LOL.
I did some organizing in my craft room yesterday and pulled out some paper for a LO I want to do, so I'm inspired to get scrapping this afternoon after a too-long hiatus - I hardly scrapped at all in August, and it's bumming me out. I did make a few cards, but it seems I wholly submitted to the "lazy days of August"...now hoping to get back into the swing of it with a fun sketch!

I knew this sketch would be a challenge for some, I hope you can find a way to make it work for you. The banner pieces are the colour swatch rub ons from the 49 and Market Spectrum Sherbet line.

Chinagirl828, that's a great sketch. I love what you did with it. The clouds gave me an idea of what I want to do with it. I have a much larger photo, but hope I can crunch the sketch down so it will work on 8.5x11 with a larger photo. I love your stenciling of the hearts and below the clouds. Love the sweet journaling too. You have such a lovely scrapping style.

great sketch and should be easy to shrink! I’ve tried to pick sketches that will also work well for those that scrap in smaller formats. 🙂

. I have a much larger photo, but hope I can crunch the sketch down so it will work on 8.5x11 with a larger photo. I’ve done this sketch with a 4x6 landscape photo turning the sketch so the design ran horizontally, although admittedly still on a 12x12 background. I ended up with fewer of the little paper squares but I still like how the page came out. I can’t share it online as there is too much identifying info on it otherwise I would have included it as an example.

Thanks for the great sketch Chinagirl828 ! I was expecting to be able to post this last night, but it took me longer than I thought. I was >this close< to copying your layout and using a photo about an ornament from my childhood, but ended up using a photo I took last weekend instead. I didn't want to be too much of a copycat! I was very happy to be able to use the Time To Thrive kit by Traci Reed that you told me about.

AussieMeg, your layout is gorgeous. I especially love the inking and watercolor on the background. I will get a closer look in the gallery. I used a photo much too big for this sketch, but I need to have the page finished to take to a Baby Blessing tomorrow, so I tried to make it work. My scanner washed it out, but it's a pretty baby pink. I used 5 hearts and 5 blocks for the twist. Precious Baby Parts

Please don't look too closely at my stitching - I'm much better on fabric than on paper, lol - I used 5 PP (the 4 squares (one of which is also matting the pic) plus the fussy cut horseshoe

I had fun with this one - haven't scrapped since July! I used five ephemera cards for the challenge for this. Chinagirl828 I love the colors you used for this! The cloud on the right looks like it's a reflection! AussieMeg, I love the colors you used too! Pastels go well with that photo. nylene, your choice of the pink papers caress the photo and emphasis the fragility of an infant. Beautiful! Linda, I love the oversized horseshoe over the star! Definitely has a western feel to it!

nylene the soft tone on tone is super pretty, I've left love in the gallery Linda I love your take on it, the messy stitching looks fab and I love the colours and patterns you've chosen for this photo, the little pop of teal is especially pretty MDscrapaholic those little cut apart pieces are the perfect blocks for this sketch. I really love that you've added the enamel dots to the edge design on your background paper too, great take on the sketch.

Such a fun different sketch and how you used clouds instead of the squares is amazing interpretation! I'm feeling pressure...but honestly, those squares themselves are so intriguing.

I think you could easily just use a strip of paper in place of all the little squares, somewhere between 11-12" tall and maybe 3" wide, then build your photo/title/any journaling on top of that.

I decided to use these sketches to start scrapbooking again. I haven’t made a layout in years. I think it looks more like AussieMeg layout than the sketch, but I am totally happy with it. And thanks to MichyM for the great directions on posting images. That was one of the reasons I don’t participate much was I could not figure it out. Spoiler - I did the first three sketches today and started the 4th.

mikklynn I've left love in the gallery for your beautiful pages. wendy crowe the monochromatic colour scheme works beautifully here, I really love the texture you've got in your clouds and the aeroplane is just perfect. seveerb your clusters are just amazing, and I really like how you've pulled the tropical elements into some of the squares as well.
