Happy Tuesday! I hope you enjoyed a long weekend (for those in the US) and for everyone else - a wonderful weekend to you, as well! Tuesdays sketches in Sketchtember will focus on shapes - first up is the classic triangle. Triangles are perfect for building borders, backgrounds or even a pie chart. I'm keeping it simple with a fun sketch from Paper Issues: To create the triangles to scale as shown in the sketch, I cut a 5" square in half to create two triangles.
TWIST BONUS: The twist for this sketch - use something OLD! I used some RAK'd Sassafras Lass felties from 2009. If you're on a Q3 Team - here are your points:- 5 points for completing the sketch
- 1 point for using the twist on ANY project you create
- 2 point bonus for using the sketch AND the twist on the same project (total of 8 points for the combo)
- Completion Bonus: finish all 30 sketches, with or without the twist, before end of day October 7th, for a bonus of 500 points!
Anyone can participate in Sketchtember - I hope you will play along! tagging grammadee

This is a fun design with the triangles. I like your take on it. Nice work!

Very nice choice of sketch and I love your page. The felt stickers are sooo cute! May I ask what size triangles those are?

Great sketch, thanks Ryann ! I love triangles. I decided for this page to "stamp" some triangles instead of using paper for the row of triangles along the bottom of the page. I used the Mix & Match Mixed Media stamps/brushes by Just Jaimee.

The right side of this is for challenge #6. I took liberties with the sketch and used a large photo instead of 2 smaller ones. This is our DD's family on an Axe Throwing outing. ETA: the brown papers (except background) were a stack of brown 4x6 mats I bought in the 90's from Pebbles in My Pocket while my DD worked there. I think that counts as old. Axe Throwing Fun

Thanks RyannI had to do some adapting to fit 8.5x11 and my larger photos - claiming the twist for the yellow PP...I'm not sure how old but not a recent purchase for sure

AussieMeg I love your take on the sketch! The row of "stamped" smaller triangles is a great offset to the larger one up top. Looks great! nylene I like how you switched out the photo sizes to make it work for you! 1990s is definitely old, lol! Linda You're very good at making the big sketches work for your size - this one included! I really like how you've rotated the sketch - I think I like it better in this orientation!

I'm not sure I love this layout, but it's not one I would have come up with on my own, so I like that! 20220910_162837 by Mikk Lynn, on Flickr

Hear ya go, Ryann! I tipped the sketch on its side and added it to a left page for a different challenge. Of course I ended up filling up most of that white space. Sometimes I just can't help myself LOL. As for old, the heart pp is from a Covid line from 2020, and I think that washi tape is one of the oldest rolls in my stash. I used a few old things on this: the EP beach stickers are from 2011, the sandy coloured background is BG, the oval label sticker is from Cavallini and Co from who knows when, and the glittery dots and stars are from Shimelle's Glitter Girl collection.

Probably my favorite layout of Sketchtember so far! I can see why - it's so fun! I like how you've extended the top corner to dance off the page. Such fun layout! I'm not sure I love this layout, but it's not one I would have come up with on my own, so I like that! I really like how the row of embellishments under your photos mimics the somewhat linear design of the page. I think it works really well. Super cute layout!! I really, really like the sideways orientation of this sketch on your layout - it looks great! You crack me up with your comment about filling up the white space! And way to go for using old washi!! I used a few old things on this: the EP beach stickers are from 2011, the sandy coloured background is BG, the oval label sticker is from Cavallini and Co from who knows when, and the glittery dots and stars are from Shimelle's Glitter Girl collection. This is such a sweet layout. I love that your split halves mimic the sand and sea. I found a way to use the triangles and something old! The Jolee's sticker is from 2002! This is great - I like that you were able to squeeze in so many photos! And a sticker from 2002 is awesome!!

I loved the opportunity to use a bunch of different pps with this sketch. I changed the photo shapes/sizes and added another cluster where they had journaling, because I felt that without the journaling strips it was missing something. My "old" thing was the pink thickers in the title. layout float and chill by kirstendrew, on Flickr
