My sympathies to our British peas and those within the monarchy. And to her family and nation of course. I can’t imagine what it must feel like for you, having the same National leadership for a lifetime and losing it.

What!?! I know she's been slowing down but she still seemed the picture of strength. How sad, but what a wonderful legacy of leadership.

There was a photo of her greeting the new PM two days ago and it was the first time I thought she looked really frail. I am just so sad over her passing. Condolences to all our UK peas. |

It is a sad day. But I can't help but think this is how she would have wanted to go: able to fill her role up until the last moment, and going suddenly without alot of fuss. This Paddington Bear video popped up when I was looking for more information this morning, and I had to smile. The most I could hope if I were to live until age 96 is that I could continue to be ME, and still be able to find a little fun in the world... |

😢 She’s one of those people that you expect to live forever (like Betty White) so it’s sad to see this day finally arrive. Condolences to her family.

This Paddington Bear video popped up when I was looking for more information this morning, and I had to smile. So *that* is what she carried in her purse!  that is really sweet! I've never seen this before. Paddington Bear was one of my favorites as a kid. |

I am very sad to hear this today. DH had called me early in the day to ask if I had seen that the family was gathering around her, and so I wasn't shocked to hear the news later today, but still very sad.

I don't know how large this pic is going to appear, but I went looking for the Star Weekly special edition for Her Majesty's coronation. We received the Star Weekly every Saturday, and I remember this edition. It had full colour photos of the Queen and the Duke and their two young kids at the time--Charles and Anne. I remember poring over this magazine, amazed by this beautiful young queen and her cute kids. I can't find the photos from the inside, but this was the cover. :format(webp)/https://www.thestar.com/content/dam/thestar/news/world/2012/05/11/photos_queen_elizabeth_ii_coronation_in_star_weekly/queen_elizabethii.jpeg) Anne had such cute fluffy curls and I loved seeing her ruffled dresses.
