I know! It's 10:30 and I'm sitting here checking email. Haven't even showered yet. Day off! But I'm excited to play so I'm going to (but shower first).

I am really going to try to do Day 12 using Ali's idea posted on her blog. Mine will not be that extensive but the cardboard hole page is really special. I will probably fill up the holes with easier stuff than she did and then just back it with a Christmasy but not busy patterned paper. But I like the opportunity to use tiny embellishments like she did. I actually got a plastic reindeer from a price tag at an outdoors store that will go into one of the holes. I painted the cardboard silvery white and stamped in red and green ink around the perimeter. I do have time today to work on it.
Otherwise, just doing regular pages for each day. I ended up buying more full page protectors from Studio Calico. They are bigger than the kit ones but still fit the album.
Good scrapping today to all!

Sadly behind, but have taken some pics and have a few ideas.... Just have a few days done. I do have two weeks off over the holiday (school) so hope to put in some time then. I have enjoyed doing the days that I've completed, and I am remembering to take pics. I may not do a page/pocket for every day, but make it a Christmas Memories book instead of a "daily" one. It IS fun though...

I finally finished my WITL. I'm glad I did it but I doubt I'll do it again any time soon, if ever. It was a lot of work.
I got a little started on dd daily today and I can't believe it's day 13. I printed out the december I bought from Jen Kinkade's online shop. I made it kind of gold and I'm going to go over it a bit with a gold pen or paint with Mr. Huey's or something to shine it up a smidge. I also bought a merry cut file and am going to steal an idea I saw on Pinterest. It has been a year since I used my Portrait (that one time) so that was a re-learn.
Discovered my star transparency from the DD kit is screwed up. I'll need to email them about that.
Also thought I would paint that chipboard page with all the holes in it because I really like that idea. However, I can't find my eyelet punch head and the only tip I have is too small.
So I really got nothing much done and it's after 9.
Geesh! There's tomorrow... I think I will upload photos to Walgreen's at least.

Well, making that holey cardboard page on Saturday was a PITB. Finding stuff to fit and go together in some random way and then affixing it all and redoing some of it took awhile. It did, however, make me step back and rethink the complexity of the pages I have already done and how I want to simplify the rest. One story, one photo, and purposeful embellishment is how I did Sunday's page and how I am headed for most of the rest of the album.
No need to reinvent the Creating Keepsakes magazine!!

desertgirl, I am with you! I went to Michaels and bought a screw punch kit to punch holes in the chipboard page so I could paint it. Got home, that took 20 minutes because it wouldn't go through the whole sheet in one shot -- took several tries for each of the 4 holes.
Then I bring it to the binder to see if it fits and it DOESN'T!!! So I bought a punch kit on Amazon for 5 bucks and will return the one to michaels. I'll have to punch bigger holes so they will line up better.
Seriously, I'm not even started yet and I'm over this.

I took the day off of work. I got my title page done. I got my merry page done (from another thread). I got page 1 and 2 done. And I'm just about to start on 3. I just finished embossing a big wood 3 with some glittery gold. Picked up a gold sharpie and more double-sided tape from Michaels. Ready!
I'll post some pics to the flickr.

Home today and just opened Ali's blog. What a lovely page, simple yet visually strong. I don't do wrapping paper in any organized way so I'll have to think about how to get the visual aspect on a day when not much is going on.
As a negative note, DD hit a deer with her car last night so that was my page from yesterday. Just the damaged car, not the dead deer and the upset kiddo! My photo actually has neighborhood Christmas lights in it.
Go forth and scrap, ladies. To December!!!!!!!

My photo last night was of the prep work needed to make a HUGE lasagna for a work party. Sometimes it is late at night and I am out of things to photograph. I am going to do the wrapping paper idea as well.

Now I am seeing why people make up their pages beforehand. I did not keep track and now have numerous 4-slot page protectors left and only a few of the larger, more useful ones left. I did order other Studio Calico brand 6x8's, and while they are too big by a little, I'll have to use them.
It's always something in scrapbooking.

I just finished my first two pages of my December album, last night. I'm calling it Keep Christmas. I am not taking a picture a day or scrapbooking every day, and I have no plans or expectations of staying caught up. I don't think my album will be perfect (this was a big hang up for me in previous years, thinking my Christmas album had to be a perfect reflection of this wonderful time of year!). I am just having fun. Here is the first day of my album: Keep Christmas: it begins

I am currently working on page 6!
A very simple page. Also realized I made what actually happened on day 5 be day 4 somehow but whatever. It's never in order anyway I just wanted to have a couple of the pages be realistic. I can't change it now. Oh well.
I think someone would have to be crazy to check out the calendar I'm putting in the back with the pages!
I'll be starting 7 in a few minutes. Just gotta glue dot this 6 down. I used some white embossing powder on a big wood 6.

I am caught up. I spent a good bit of time last night and very early this morning, printing out photos. I am still embellishing too much on the pages but I like the album. And I have a cantata to attend tomorrow and there will be a photo for that so I went ahead and made a page for it.
My dining room table is chaotic and not being used for what its maker intended, I am sure. A million little pieces, most of them sparkly. AAUUGGHH!!

I've been taking some pictures and journaling, but haven't done a thing in my dd. I've completed 4 dd albums, but this year just haven't found the mojo. Maybe I'll try your way of thinking!

Desertgirl, take a pic of your table - it's your DD command central - and sparkly too! This is my first try at DD, after my first 30 Days of Thankful book, and I am really enjoying getting back into scrapping again. I'm nowhere near caught up, I think I'm on page 7, but I have the next two weeks off from school and will have more time to be working on my pages. Trying to get outside my comfort zone, and add more bling and "stuff" to my pages, and be a little less ordered, but it's a challenge for me. While I love the sparkle and glitter, esp. for the Christmas pages, my scrapping style is old-fashioned, linear and symmetrical. I'm not a huge fan of the extremely cluttery, layered, "messy" looking books, though I admire the talents of those who can put them all together and make it work. I do think my pages could use a little less organization and a bit more dressing up. Thanks for sharing, everyone, and giving me some really nicely done pages for inspiration!

I was completely caught up my first week, and then almost everyone in the house has battled the flu at some point in the past two weeks, including me, so I am behind now. We celebrate Hanukkah rather than Christmas, so my DD is never Christmas-oriented, obviously, but the lights and decorations everywhere make it a fun month to do this anyway.
I am done with 1-8, 12-15, and bits of 9-11. I don't think I will get around to finishing the album if I leave it to January, so I am hoping to get some steam back now that I am healthy.

Ok, I'm working on day 9 now. Should get that done soon then start on 10. I know if I don't finish each day now, they won't ever get done.
Last year I felt like I embellished too much but this year not enough so I'm going crazy on this page.

I'm still in taking pictures & collecting supplies mode.
Got cute baker's twine in the Target Dollar Spot to match my album (silver & turquoise).
Taking pics as they come up.
I think I'm going to use the 8x8 colorbok album I've had in my stash for a few years. I was contemplating buying a new album, but I think I'll use what I have this year.

Alrighty now - it's the day after Christmas. How's your album coming along?
I have all my pics uploaded (up through Christmas). I'll place an order after New Year's Day (because that's the last part of my holiday album).

This is so slow!
I got 10 done. It took a long time because I used 3 sleeves with 3X3 and 3X4 photos of the elf on the shelf and his antics. I figured I'd just put most of them in there as 1 day and be done with it.
It looks great. Love it. I used some of the OA filler stuff that came in the box and shoved it in the horizontal pocket that's like 2X6. Very happy with those pages.
Day 11 is when we went to the Nutcracker so I went crazy with gold and embellishments again.
Day 12 has 1 photo on the left and is very simple. On the right I'm using that chipboard thing from the DD kit and I'm having fun with it. Each little space will have something different.
So I'm two weeks behind but most of the photos are printed and most of the days after this will be more simple.
Is anyone just giving up? I have the next few days off and I'm hoping to throw a couple of pages together per day.

I failed. Didn't even start it. I feel like I got the kit so late that I didn't have any time to set it up. I was taking pictures and jotting down notes the first week but never had time to actually work on it. Then a week before Christmas I got the flu and was in bed for 6 days. So I just gave up completely. I'll save the kit for next year. Then I can copy Ali's designs from this year and actually set it up ahead of time. Oh well, I had good intentions. Maybe as my kids get older it will get easier.

I'm behind, but I have been jotting down notes (finally putting all those cute sticky notes to use) and taking pictures, so when the kids are back in school I'm going to sit down and finish it.

No, now is not the time to give up! As long as you have some photos, it should be possible to look at your date book/calendar or the digital dates on the photos, and put together some journaling.
I spent quite a few hours yesterday getting my photos printed. I made a list of the dates with brief notes about the photos, and now I am ready to put them in the album. I have 3 dd's (20,23,25) who have been great about sending photos in texts or email, so I have more than enough for each day. I include photos from all of them even if they are not living at home.
I made my own mini album ahead of time so now I just need to add the photos, journaling and embellishments to the pages. I start with Thanksgiving, and that is the only day done so far, but this week is fairly quiet so I hope to get it done by New Years. I actually find it hard to sit down each day for a few minutes and do one page a day. I like to be surrounded by my supplies and spend some time getting into the zone.
Since this is a Dec Daily support thread I hope everyone will get some encouragement to dive in and get some pages done!

I made a lot of progress today!
I'm proud of myself for sticking through it and I agree with the others -- you can do it!
I took today to plug away and I finished up through day 19.
So 5 pages left! I don't have a lot of photos for days 21 - 25. I didn't take many photos, just spending time with the family and I forgot to document. I'm fine with that. One photo per day is plenty.
The problem is too many photos for day 20 so I'm thinking about doing a two page spread -- just patterned paper with photos and stuff with a 3X4 pocket page cut in half. Not sure. I'm going to sleep on it.
Good luck to everyone!
This is something I will forever treasure so it's worth plugging through.
