I posted this in the other thread, but posts tend to get lost in strings of tweets.
Republicans are trying to interfere with elections, undermine them and intimidate and suppress voters with a multi-pronged approach. They've completely given up on trying to win with ideas and have just resorted to cheating to stay in power.
Republicans are out of control with the voter suppression. Sadly, I don't have confidence that the courts will keep them in check. But, according to pixiechick/ morecowbell, there is no active voter suppression. It's just rhetoric for policies Democrats don't like.

while laws that make it more taxing to vote are not new, the current onslaught of voting restrictions and changes to how elections will be administered is not something we’ve grappled with on this scale. Additionally, there is their nakedly partisan origins — nearly 90 percent of the voting laws proposed or enacted in 2021 were sponsored primarily or entirely by Republican legislators — and the fact that these laws are likely to have a greater impact on Black and brown voters, who are less likely to vote Republican.
Republican efforts to pass new voter restrictions have been so aggressive and widespread that their effects are hard to predict. Elections, moreover, don’t run themselves; they’re run by people. And these new laws point to an even more troubling problem that threatens to undermine our democracy: the GOP’s eroding commitment to democratic values, like free and fair elections. In many ways, the most concerning change our elections face may not be any one law, but rather the GOP’s increased willingness to take such anti-democratic actions.

Reports from across the nation reveal that new legislation will disproportionately suppress voters from marginalized groups.
Since the beginning of 2021, 49 states introduced bills and 14 enacted laws making it harder to vote by mail
Thirty-three states introduced bills and nine enacted laws restricting voters from receiving help when casting their ballot or registering to vote
Thirty-eight states introduced bills and seven enacted laws making voter identification laws stricter
Ten states introduced bills and two enacted laws imposing restrictions on Election Day registration
In 2021, at least one state enacted a law allowing more partisan control of election administration. Since the beginning of 2022, three more states have introduced similar bills
Republicans are trying to gain partisan control over elections in some states

The unauthorized access to ballots or voting machines is another really disturbing trend and desperate move by Republicans.

And Republicans keep spewing lies about voter fraud, mostly unchecked.

At a minimum, the issue of voter fraud seems undiminished in its ability to galvanize certain categories of voters and create doubt about the outcome of elections.
Perhaps that should not be surprising. Voter fraud exists, but its prevalence and importance are less a matter of fact than of belief. Relying on that belief to explain away unpalatable election results is an exercise of faith, but one that millions find more acceptable than all the arguments and evidence from experts, courts and academics.
Republicans are encouraging poll workers to cheat based on a false premise that Democrats will cheat. The GOP is actively encouraging poll workers to break rules to catch Democrats cheating.

Republicans are installing partisan poll workers to intimidate voters and potentially overturn Democratic votes

Placing operatives as poll workers and building a "hotline" to friendly attorneys are among the strategies to be deployed in Michigan and other swing states.
Video recordings of Republican Party operatives meeting with grassroots activists provide an inside look at a multi-pronged strategy to target and potentially overturn votes in Democratic precincts: Install trained recruits as regular poll workers and put them in direct contact with party attorneys.
The plan, as outlined by a Republican National Committee staffer in Michigan, includes utilizing rules designed to provide political balance among poll workers to install party-trained volunteers prepared to challenge voters at Democratic-majority polling places, developing a website to connect those workers to local lawyers and establishing a network of party-friendly district attorneys who could intervene to block vote counts at certain precincts.
Another way the Republicans are messing with elections. They're deliberately flooding election offices with requests for information in an attempt to create chaos before the Nov elections.
