I am trying to cut an SVG of a bee with little dashes showing the bee's path. When I cut it out of HTV, not all the little dashes stay on the mat, so I loose them. It is a pretty new mat and name brand HTV. Any tips on getting this cut out? Thanks.

Sometimes, part of a design is so small that the mat just doesn’t hold it. When that happens, I usually do one of two things.
Use an ultra sticky brand new mat. I like the Nicapa mats that I order from Amazon, and they are incredibly sticky at first, more than I remember the Silhouette mats being.
However……sometimes those little bits still don’t stick, even to a very sticky mat. When that happens, sometimes I will resort to doing a copy and paste of the little bits that keep getting lost, till I have a bunch of duplicates. Chances are that there will be at least some that manage to survive the cutting and weeding process. I use fine tweezers to carefully take those duplicates and replace the lost bits, before heat pressing. I hope that makes sense.
Another option is to thicken the dashes a tiny bit with the offset function (remove the original smaller dashes before cutting).
I have seen some designs like you describe. I wondered how well they would actually cut.

Are you cutting all the way through the backer of the HTV? You should only be cutting the HTV, and not the backer it is on, so the mat really won't be a factor, as long as it is sticky enough to hold the HTV in place so it doesn't slide around.
You could try turning on Line Segment Overcut. This is in the send panel - check the box for it there. That makes the blade lift and turn, instead of pivoting around as it cuts angles/corners. You get cleaner cuts and it is less likely to pull stuff loose.

I am 99% sure I had it on, I use it for most cuts. Thanks. That is a good idea. I am giving up on this, I was trying to cut it small to fit on a onesie. I'll just wait til she is bigger, and try cutting it bigger.

You could also just use the bee without the lines. I often do that when my design is just too small to cut well. Another option is to take a permanent fabric marker and draw the lines in.
