I feel like Michaels Canada is often behind when it comes to new product. Wondering if the US peas are seeing anything new in the scrapbook aisles? I can’t remember the last time I bought something at my local store. I’m heading to Maine in October so hoping for better luck there.

The last time I was in Michaels which was about 6 months ago there was nothing. I mean the entire scrapbook section was cleaned out. And it had been trickling down to that. I'm kind of curious to go in there and see if there's anything there now

Michaels has slowly obliterated their scrapbooking section over the last 5-7 years. I stopped going there regularly maybe 3 years ago. Now I go maybe 1-2 times a year during the holidays because I'm looking for something specific. The Joann closest to me is moving 5 minutes away from me to 25 minutes away. I'm much less likely to go there now, too.

My store has gone steadily down since Hobby Lobby opened a few years ago. The only ‘new’ that I’ve noticed is an increase in 12x12 and 6x6 paper pads. The individual papers are down to less then half an aisle.

I went yesterday to get perler beads for my nephew. I bought nothing in the scrapbook section even with an email 40% off coupon. It's a shame, I used to shop there weekly.. now I go to Joanns or Hobby Lobby weekly.

I used to work at Michaels, right when the CEO changed (2020). His new vision for the company was to focus on trendy products and projects. When I was the replenishment manager, I was slowly removing scrapbooking product that was clearanced out and replacing it with the ever so trendy Cricut machines and vinyl products. Another trend that was trickling in were the resin/paint pouring projects. Some of the scrappy sacrifices in my store were inks, dies and stamps.
As we all know, scrapbooking isn't the most popular craft right now, hence the dwindling product. If it becomes popular again, then MAYBE Michaels will bring in more product. But when I was there, they really only supplied their in house Recollections brand anyway. All others were slowly disappearing already.

In the last few years, Michaels has severely downsized the scrapbook section. The stickers that remain, are years old and small sticker sneeze. A couple times a year they get new paper pads, but the designs are not great.
The one thing I do like, is the rolling carts. They offer several sizes and a few different colors.
I rarely shop there, because they rarely get anything new in the scrapbook section and they never have more than one cashier at a time.

I stopped by the other day for the first time in forever. They had a bunch of Silhouette stuff on clearance - I got 2 rolls of Silhouette brand stencil material for $3/each. They had a new display for the Glowforge machine and had acrylic sheets for it (which looked cool). Otherwise, nothing new at my store.

Haven't been to Michaels since they stopped offering the flyer coupons. I'm not forking over my email to be sold to spammers just to get a 40% off their overpriced wares. The selection had severely gone down hill too; so many 'home decor' items (aka knickknacks with no actual purpose) and very little actual crafting supplies.

Thanks for everyone’s input. Sounds like I won’t even need to stop at Michaels this trip.

I am going to go today as I need some plain card stock.
My Michael's has 3 isles dedicated to paper crafts as well as a long wall shelf.
That is for paper, die cutting, stickers, stamping, storage, adhesives.
I feel our Michael's always had a good selection to compete with the less Cracker Jack's Too/Collective Journey. And there seems to still be a good amount of people who scrapbook in my area.
I don't pay attention to what is new there as I typically just get plain cardstock, ink, blank cards, and stickers there.

I will say my Hobby Lobby is pathetic. I got a GC for my birthday and I still have a good chunk left. Stamps, inks, stickers, and die cuts were few and far between.
JoAnn's here is okay. Only 2 isles of items and it's eh.

My Hobby Lobby is about to reset their stamps and inks. They clearanced a bunch of stuff out and started setting up for new product. Hopefully it will be filled soon.

Both Hobby Lobby and Michaels have gone to the majority of their product being store brands and the quality has since dropped.

Just got back.
Lots of new paper pads, embellishments, washi tape, bakers twine, stickers, etc for Halloween and Christmas.

I went to Michael's yesterday looking for Halloween papers and embellishments. There was nothing. I mean, absolutely NOTHING.

michaels has gone down the tubes since the some venture group bought them. it used to be my primary source for craft shopping but i have barely spent a dime there in the past 2 years. their (good) coupons are gone. the SB section sucks now. even the holiday sections are as good as they used to be. halloween is probably 1/2 the volume they used to carry. joann and hobby lobby get my craft money now. mostly joann.

I was at my Michael's yesterday and the scrapbooking section is just plain sad! It seemed like it was mostly Cricut supplies! Same at mine Michael's. 3 aisles of all kinds of Cricut machines, vinyls and accessories. I wanted some Halloween inspiration, but they only have an endcap for Halloween. Very sad looking.
