I am shock, shocked I tell you 😲 😄, how early the leaves seem to be changing here in the Northeast. Is everyone seeing it in their state also?
I have just started a two week vacation (an annual 30 or so year tradition) in the Northeastern part of my state and noticed on the drive up how many trees have already started to change color. I Always take the last two weeks of September and weather and foliage does change depending on the year. We have had years with snow to years that we can still swim every now and then, so it can be unpredictable any year…but I think it is going to be very early this year or they are just going to die and drop.
I feel sorry for all those booked on foliage bus tours for the October because I really think the leaves will be down. Hope it does not mean that the snow will roll in early as I am not quite ready for that yet. 🤞

NWPA here and we don’t have much change here yet at all. Mid October is prime leaf peeping time usually.

I am in SW PA and not much here yet.
I am going to the Milwaukee area in mid October so I hope there are still some leaves then.
Our fall in Pittsburgh last year was late and somewhat subdued. We haven't had much rain this year so I hope the leaves are still good.

I live in western South Carolina and our “indicator” tree in our neighborhood is starting to change. This tree is always the first to show fall leaves. Seems early to me-our usual peak is late October. We have had a semi-drought this year. Figured that was why.

Capital Region of NY here. Not much change yet---little hints of color here and there. We drove up to Lake George area over the weekend and didn't see any major change yet.
We finally got some rain here after a very dry summer. Our lawn is finally green again. It was crispy in July and August.

Not a lot of color change, some yellow, but very early in northern Virginia for leaf dropping for some trees, like tulip poplars, not others. We’re on a densely treed lot and the walkway, driveway, front yard is covered with leaves.
A landscape company owner told me they’re in a bind because this time of year their crews are finishing up other types of work that they can’t just drop, but their clients—mostly commercial but some residential—are clamoring for leaf removal. They usually start late October.

Just outside of Minneapolis and there are definitely some changes. The leaves are starting to turn yellow and the sumac is turning red already. We are in a drought, so I think that is making it happen a little early.

Twin Cities here and they are already starting to turn. It was so hot this summer that I don’t expect it to be a great year for fall colors. We’ve had snow in mid October the last two years.

A small maple in our backyard started color change about two weeks ago. Other trees in the area are starting to show, but nothing near peak. Our large maple is dropping lots of leaves already, which seems a little early.

I was in Lake George the week before and there wasn’t really any then except for few distressed trees, here and there. They typically are around the same time as my area. I live in the Champlain Valley (Burlington VT area) and typical years when I get back from camp at the end of September it is close to or peak up here and we are just starting to at change home. But you could tell they were really changing even that close to Champlain. I think that is one of things that I love about about the changing of the leaves, all of sudden boom…you are in a sea of color but you never know what each year will bring so it is always new, different and changing. Happy leaf peeping. ETA - it is no where near peak but I am surprised at the amount in the lower elevations/ lower part of the state.

I'm in northern Alberta and it's late here. Often in mid August we've gone to southern BC and when we come home there are some yellow leaves already. This year has been so dry I thought they'd change early. My elm trees are usually changed and dropped by the first/second week of September and they have just started to turn. Some trees are just turning brown. Things have started changing last week, slowly. Helps that we have only had patchy frost 1 night so far. Usually they just start to be at their peak and we get a hard frost and they are all gone the next day.

Southern NH. Just started seeing a little bit of red. I actually think it's starting late. I usually see some red as early as August (swamp maples, usually)

PNW and not only are the leaves green mostly, but it is in the 70s, which isn't super unusual for this time of year, but is a little warm.

Yes they are changing and dropping early in the mid Atlantic region as well. I think they are anxious to go into hibernation and be done with this year!

East coast of Canada here (New Brunswick) and had quite a bit of colour change this past week. I love the fall colours and don’t mind them coming early but the peak here is usually the first or second week of October. I’m heading to Maine and possibly New Hampshire the week of Oct 10 so hoping to still see some colour then.

I used to travel to Burlington a few times a year for work and always at least once in the fall. It was a beautiful drive (but very slow since so much of the drive wasn’t highway and lots of leaf peepers shared the roads with me). I had lots of time to take in the beauty😂. The I Love NY tourism social media accounts post a weekly foliage map during the season. Seems to never fail that every year I have somewhere to go in the state that is just past peak!

Just beginning here in Colorado.. I think the mountains are getting to their peak.. probably with the next few weeks. But in town, just here and there. I think my tree has one branch that is turning colors.

Way too early here in NC. Probably see a little color in mid-October but it seems to be getting later and later each year.

UK here, and our leaves have been turning yellow and falling off for weeks. This isn't because autumn is starting early, it's because of the drought conditions which cause the trees to drop their leaves to conserve water. I have no idea what that means for the autumn and winter, but it's rather worrying. We went for a walk yesterday and the berries in the hedges were so heavy they were pulling the twigs down. It's been a strange year all round.

Yes, I noticed some changes early this year. I wondered whether the trees were sick or if it were climate change...
Things are mostly green, though.

We had a week long heat wave in early September. Temps were between 108-115 for the entire week. After that most of the oak trees around me started turning orange and are now brown. I'm noticing some other trees in town are starting to turn. It's been so dry they are ready to be dormant ahead of schedule I guess.

We have a yard full of trees. About a month ago, one branch started to turn yellow. I was thinking the rest would follow. Nope, not yet. I live at 6,300 foot elevation. Now the pace the turns yellow the quickest in our area is about 9,500 feet. We'll probably go there next weekend to do an early peep show.

We are headed to the White Mountains and Acadia NP on Friday, we hope to see lots of colors. This is our first trip to the NE and are very excited! No color in the Deep South

Thanks for the link! According to that I'm going to have to wait until Nov 7 to Nov 14 for any leaves worth seeing. Typical for here though.
