Normally I make clothing for Jacy or purses and bags but I have decided I wanted to learn to quilt. I just finished this recently. I've got the back & binding made but my longarm quilter is not taking any work until after the first of the year. Show me what you have done lately.

Oh and it is a free pattern on Craftsy. I added one row of squares to the top and the side to make it a little bigger. Star Bright pattern

An Elsa dress and cape for DD. I need to redo her Christmas stocking and hope I have enough time left to get it done before Christmas with everything else we've got going on!

I love that quilt! I have not done any quilting, but it is appealing and probably a future hobby. My last sewing project was Halloween, dd's Anna dress. I posted it somewhere. Not sure if this will work or not. Actually, that's not entirely true. I've been working on my Etsy shop, but that's easy stuff. Making ironic/fun ballet skirts and other dance related items. And, tomorrow, I am beginning refurbishing a costume that dd's new ballet school uses in their version of the Nutcracker (different story, same music). I bought myself a present today. Bought the Gutterman storage unit that comes with 80 spools. Yeah.. I'm ready to become a quilter with all those colors.

Last Sunday I recovered the cushions in our window seat. By hand. I was planning on machine stitching with piping on the edges, and a zipper to get them off for cleaning, but I thought it would be quicker to just wrap and whip-stitch. Ugh, not really. It took me all day, because stupid me bought a stripe, that had to be straight.
But the funny part is before stitching I had one all pinned up and in the window and DH commented that he thought we were going with the "darker" side (read - wrong side). I agreed. So I re-pinned and stitched them wrong side out. It really does look better. I stitched a note inside each one stating that I KNOW that the fabric is inside out, but we like it better. I also put my name and the date. LOL!

That's lovely.
Lately, all I've sewn is a button back on a coat.
I wish I could sew beautiful blankets or clothes for my children, but sadly it is cheaper to buy ready-made than to get materials and equipment.

I finished the quilt top from my quilting class and as soon as I finish the back it can be taken to be quilted.

Not much -- but I'm moving soon from my apartment to a house and I'll have a room just for my sewing and crafts. Can't wait.

I have some mending to do. In fact, when the delivery guys were here with the stove and dishwasher the other day, I'd forgotten to hide my bra that's sitting on the dining room table waiting for me to restitch the strap.
I did finally get around to making those kitchen curtains. We'll see if DDs notice when they're home at Christmas.

scissorsister7, that is your first quilt? I have never quilted before but after years of seeing everyone's beautiful quilts on here, I want to take it up in the new year. Your quilt has inspired me and given me hope that I can do it! Sadly all I have sewn lately is the hems on 3 pairs of jeans. And I love that dress melissa , so pretty!

I'm trying to finish the stocking my grandma started for DS while I was pregnant. She was trucking along on it and then my grandpa got sick, she fell and broke her hip and then they both moved into assisted living. My mom found it about half finished in their house and brought it to me at Thanksgiving. I love that we're both putting our hands on it! But I do want to finish it before Christmas since this is DS's third year without a stocking otherwise. Well, I bought a cheapy one as a temporary one, but it's nothing special.

Here's a pic I sent to my mom the other night. Santa was done by grandma. I did the paint cans, rocking horse and drum so far.

I've just been working on my stock for craft shows - small bags, can cozies, stocking stuffers. I need to sew 15 more pillowcases for an order, sew the family christmas gifts because that is happening the day after my craft show, AND somehow get some more knitting done.

Thanks for all the compliments on the quilt top everyone! It was so easy to put together once I had everything cut out. gloryjoy It is not my first quilt but I haven't made very many quilts. I think this is my third quilt. So far I have only made very simple quilts. I have a friend that says I'm cheating by just sewing squares or strips of fabric together. But I still love doing it and the recipients always like them too so I'm going to keep on going.

Your quilt is beautiful!
I decided to finally finish the duvet covers that I started for my DS last year! One done, one still need buttonholes and buttons. A little surprise Christmas gift - what teen boy doesn't want bedding for Christmas!

I have a stack of flannel for making pj pants with. I also still have a baby blessing dress to make. the baby is due any day. I think I need to get busy on that too. I'd be doing it today, but I have a photo project that's annoying the crap out of me but needs to be done *right now*.

And just how many quilts has this friend made? Getting all those squares matched up takes work! Not to mention picking the fabrics and getting the layout just right with that many fabrics! I hate when people make comments like that! I hate it too. That is what quilting is: cutting fabric pieces exactly so the pieces line up! i put together a quick pattern; Turning Twenty. My quilting buddy also called it a "lazy" pattern.

I know what dream ruffles are, and I LOVE those curtains! So cute!
I've made a tutu- well, I bought the practice tutu and put a plate on and sewed a bodice. It's stretch, because I can only sew stretch clothing (not even kidding) and DD hates boning, I will have to post a photo, I'm quite proud, it's a very recognizable tutu for her variation and quite satisfactory, if not as exciting as a $1000 custom one, lol. DD even said "wow mom, its like a real tutu!" when it was completed- gee, thanks kid. I am currently working on a pretty tunic for her other variation, not difficult, I will probably make a fairly involved headpiece though. I really need some pictures, I'm tickled with myself!

Ok what are dream duffles? I love the variety of all you've made! I also would love to see the tutu! Well, this stocking is kicking my booty. I'm sick and worked on it most of the day but I still feel like I'm never going to finish it. Today I made a little felt ball, teddy bear, paint brush and started a train. I hope to finish and attach the train tomorrow and then decide what to do. At that point the instructions tell me to sew the stocking back side on, so at that time it's functional. Do I stop and work on other stuff (I.e. Wrapping gifts, finish shopping, etc.) and come back to it if there's time? At least its to the point Santa can fill it and I can finish it in January. I need a clone of myself

Right now I'm part way through two cushions for the boys for Christmas. Firstborn is getting a Game of Thrones cushion with the Stark crest, and Second Son is getting a map of Middle Earth. I bought the cushion panels from Etsy and I'm patchworking around the edges and adding the back panel to make a cushion cover, then I'll buy two inserts. Both boys are painting quilt covers for each other as their "make" gift this year. Firstborn is doing Assassins Creed and Second Son is doing House of Stark. We picked up the covers for $10 at Ikea.
