Welcome to the final week of sketches! Sticking to my plan of choosing sketches that would let you use scraps or at least multiple papers, I found this: sketch Pamela Young by kirstendrew, on Flickr My twists this month have all featured INK. - I created my own background with stripes of ink instead of paper - I used distress inks (some oxide, some regular) on Vicki Boutin "foundations" white cardstock, then added water to blend them out. Then I thought they were too bright, and added a "wash" of white over top to mute them a bit. -I used the same ink colours to stencil/stamp my fish in the bottom right, - same ink to stamp the fishing rod/fish/sentiment in the left hand cluster. -Those were all things I bought to make father's day cards, and I was glad to use them for scrapbooking - makes the purchase seem more justified! -used the same ink to colour 2008 Basic Grey chipboard letters ("what a") and 2012 Heidi Swapp tile letters which were made to be inked ("catch") layout what a catch by kirstendrew, on Flickr Today's "twist" bonuses - IF used in conjunction with this sketch - are: 1. use ink to create a background - 5 points - this is a big challenge for most of us! 2. use ink to stamp or stencil to create an embellishment - 2 points If you use the twists on any other page you can claim 2 points for #1 and 1 point for #2. Please come share here if you use this sketch!

Such a fun sketch, and I love what you did with it, kitbop . Thankyou. And thanks for posting early. Let's make the most of this last September weekend!
ETA I might have to try this sketch out with Shimelle's latest Stencils class... You must be clairvoyant, kitbop to post this today when that class popped up this evening. LOL

Thanks for posting early kitbop , I have enjoyed sitting outside in the sun doing my layout for this fab sketch. I had a lot of fun with this one. At first I thought that I might replace the paper strips with mixed media as you did, but in the end I decided to go with torn paper strips. I love this sketch, and can see myself using it again. These photos were taken yesterday. I am SO up to date hahaha!

Linda- love the greens - wow, so great she got a green cast! I was hoping this sketch could work well as an 8.5x11. I didn't even notice AussieMeg 's torn edge - I loved the bottom cluster so much, I missed registering the tearing! Yes, that adds so much. I plan to reuse this sketch because it feels versatile, interesting, and can accomodate different photo sizes.

Thanks kitbop - yes, they gave her a choice of colours and green is her favourite. I'm sure I'll reuse this sketch also - I have more ideas for it

I really like this sketch, but I ended up doing a super simple version of it.

Thanks for the challenge, kitbop . This was a fun one. I didn't do the twist, but may repeat it with the inks. You have love in the gallery. Linda, I love the bright pops of color against the greens. I hope she's doing well without the cast now. AussieMeg and Chinagirl828 , wonderful pages. You have love in the gallery. Let's Cruise

Linda, I love the bright pops of color against the greens. I hope she's doing well without the cast now. Thanks - cast came off this morning - she has a brace to wear for basketball and welding and probably camping for the next 3 weeks but otherwise is good. Love your cruise page - lovely patterned papers and your die cuts are spot on as always

Here is my take on this sketch, kitbop . I had Shimelle's stenciling class on the brain, so inked and blended different colours through a VB stencil in strips, then cut it up and matted each strip. I tipped and inverted the sketch to have those boys' wrestling in the grass at the bottom. Autumn Fall into it! by Gramma Dee, on Flickr Too late for the twist points, but this sketch has been niggling my brain since you posted it. Thanks for the inspiration!

Managed the second twist . . . do I still get those points?
All papers recycled from a page kit that I didn't like the design from Boxer. The ribbon, stamp, stickers are all by Boxer. They have been out to the business since about 2012 or so.

I finally found time to make a layout, yay! I used my Halloween swap pieces to create this layout along with some Lawn Fawn and October Afternoon papers. http://instagram.com/p/Cj6hOaCuarM I really enjoyed this sketch, I already have an idea in mind for another layout that I want to try. 😊

I did another version of this sketch based on how AussieMeg tore her strips, and how grammadee used the Shimelle stencil idea to complete hers. This is done just like Shimelle did: texture paste through a stencil, then inking for the colour. layout a little messy by kirstendrew, on Flickr
