I had to google...it's a no from me too. I don't like butter much and don't put it on my bread normally...and this looks like you'd get way too much. There were also a lot of pictures of these that had figs...who wants butter on fresh figs? Or radishes? Yuck. Then all the finger licking and double dipping and then you've got a board of butter coated bacteria...no thanks.

I like butter as much or maybe more than the next person, but I’m going to take a hard pass on the butter board trend. The idea of multiple people dragging their bread through the butter on the board, taking a bite and then what? Eating the rest of the bread plain? Dragging the bitten off bread through the butter again? Nope, not gonna happen here, and I’m not even that much of a germophobe. Besides, I’m pretty much of a butter purist in that I just like plain old salted butter. I don’t want it whipped with honey, don’t want it with garlic or onions or lemon or herbs or anything else mixed in. Just give me my plain old generic butter (preferably soft so it doesn’t trash my bread when I spread it on) and I’m a happy girl.

I saw that and it didn't seem appetizing to me. I love using ramekins for soft cheeses and dips when I do charcuterie boards. It's easy to put a spreading knife in each one and easy to clean the board.

I’m sitting out on this trend. I like making different compound butters to serve with meals but the whole smearing the butter and dragging the bread through is unappealing to me. Im good with using a bowl and spreaders for the butter. I’ve also seen them done with cream cheese and bagel seasonings and with bagel pieces. I’d bet there’s a butter board hashtag on Instagram and Tik Tok if you’re looking for more inspiration. Butter boards do not interest me, but a cream cheese one would, LOL.

This has a big ick factor for me. From smearing butter all over a wooden board to people swiping their food through the butter. 🤢🤢 Id rather someone put together some flavored butters in bowls with knives for spreading and then have the bread and whatnot separate. But I still wouldnt be that interested in it.

Yeah, no thanks, but I don’t care for charcuterie boards either. I'm not a fan either. I like it when they do a 'single serve' charcuterie. But with the price of butter right now, no way. Plus, as someone said 'double dipping' .

I saw a cream cheese one for bagels. That looked appealing.
But no one serves stuff like that around here. Basic fact here; charcuterie board is just a "meat & cheese tray" in these parts. Usually deer sausage from their last hunt. LOL Deer summer sausage slices, deer stick cut into bite size pieces, some cheddar, swiss, and pepper jack cheese slices, served with a box of Ritz crackers. Most often out of a Tupperware container.

I checked out the hashtags for them on insta as I’d never heard of it and found a meme that said: “I just found out about butter boards three days ago and I’m already tired of them.” Yeah. They look kind of nasty and I love butter. This is me. Can you imagine what they look like after 4-5 swipes? This is one of those ideas that's trying too hard, bowls and little knives are just fine.

I don’t like the idea at all. If you want to serve different butters, that is great but I would much rather have ramekins and butter knives. I would be a little grossed out.

Love them. I love bread. I love butter. I love butter flavored with various things. I would only serve them with my immediate family (as in the people who live in my house), so I’m not grossed out by them. I’m confused by all the double dipping comments though. Obviously you tear off a piece of your bread, drag just that piece through, then put it in your mouth. That’s actually how you’re supposed to butter bread anyway according to proper etiquette rules - you break off one bite, butter it, and eat it. I made a version of this yesterday — feta+a little cream cheese+mayo whipped together spread on the board and topped with roasted artichoke hearts, lemon, olives and shallots. Then hot honey on top. I thought it was great. We used pita chips to dip. Cleanup was easy.

I’d never heard of such a thing so of course I went to Pinterest to find some inspiration…..there was none 😱. This must be an Instagram or TikTok trend. Anyhow….I did find pancake boards 😳🤤now there’s something I could get behind 😀 I was just in Pinterest and there a whole bunch of ideas. ? I just went to Pinterest to see examples. I put butter boards into the search, and nothing but various compound butters came up. Perhaps I need to put charcuterie in there too. ETA just went and googled it, and it is even more nopey than I originally thought.

What I don't get is all the double dipping responses. The same thing can be said for a bowl of dip and chips or salsa and chips. Do you all avoid those at parties too? Ever heard of an appetizer plate and spreader? This board never disappoints.

I saw a couple of these on Instagram last week. I don't think I will be making one but, I am mildly intrigued. I would eat one if someone else made it. I like snacky type things! ETA.... I would prefer that it was served with little knives so there was no double dipping or fingers in the food. I'm not about to eat a bunch of bacteria!!
