I follow some that don't support the war. It's very interesting to see what is happening from their point of view. Two have just gotten out.

No, but I follow a couple of Russians on IG. Initially they did make an anti war post but left it at that. They did get some very nasty comments on their post.

They all have to get moderators because of the nasty comments. And there is a lot of stuff they can't say. But you can read between the lines. I'm just glad two men I follow have made it out in the last two days.

Who is it that you follow? I’m curious if they talk about what they are told of the war, the general sentiments about the war, etc. Do they know what the truth is or do they still believe that Russia is fighting nazi’s in Ukraine?

They talk in a round about way so they won't be arrested. They do know what is going on and they get other news. BUT a lot of Russians don't and they have believed what their government news has been telling them, until the mobilization. INSIDE RUSSIAZack the RussianNiki

I’m curious if they talk about what they are told of the war, the general sentiments about the war, etc. Do they know what the truth is or do they still believe that Russia is fighting nazi’s in Ukraine? Back during the pandemic I watched a long Russian tv series and for lack of something better to do I started looking up and following some of the cast on IG. The director posted, in Russian, ASHAMED, on a black background on the first day of the invasion. An older actor quoted someone about the evils of war and went on about the future judgement by history, the main actress recited a poem in Ukrainian and mentioned having relatives in Ukraine and being worried. They were fairly obvious meanings but In a roundabout way. A woman, a makeup artist wrote a longer paragraph about how there was no excuse for anyones home to be destroyed on a whim, for people to need to flee etc. she was way more direct but never mentioning Russia or Putin. I think all these people are more likely to have travelled to the west and not be so blinded by the local propaganda.

I check in on The Sheekoz Family occasionally, but it's been a few months, now that I think about it.

I follow a few. One couple left very early on, another guy (Inside Russia) just left, and I’m not sure what’s happening with another. I’ve watched a few others occasionally, also.

I check in on The Sheekoz Family occasionally, but it's been a few months, now that I think about it. When this first started Dan went off the deep end. He is still posting, but not anything political. I didn't hear what was said. It was a live stream. But I think he was spouting the Russian line. His little girl is getting big and so cute. He posted today.

I’ve watched YouTube where they interview Russians on the street called 1420 Russia. If you search on YouTube “1420 Russia” you can find it. It’s pretty crazy.

Her YouTube name is now Victoria Terekhina (used to be Minimal Russian Girl, but she does not want to be linked to Russia right now). They moved to Georgia before their new baby girl was born. I also watch Niki and 1420.

I also watch Dan Sheekoz. Not every video, but I try to keep in touch with the family and what they are doing. I found it very interesting to see the shops and mall once the war had started.
I also follow Vasya in the hay. Again, not all the time. He does a lot of good things for individuals. You see the worst side of Russia in his videos.

I follow a wife/husband team who are co-authors of a few popular series. She’s Russian, he’s American and they live in the US. HOWEVER, she has family in Russia and Ukraine.
When the war broke out they shut down any comments regarding the war on their blog and FB fan page. Followers are supportive since she has actual family in both places and she doesn’t feel the need to dissect her family relations for readers.
