Happy October! We have had some gorgeous weather in the upper 60s and low 70s this week.
I wish I was finding more time to scrapbook. I really want to make Christmas cards this year, but I'm wondering how realistic that is.

Happy October! We have entered the it is fall in the morning with nice cool, crisp air where jeans are fine but then by 1pm you wish you had worn shorts. Then as the sun sets the cool air returns. Ah...fall in Southern Ca.
I am going to give coring a try on stamped images. Will see how that goes.
And Toby's cancer is stable. No growth for a year and no new lymph nodes affected. Thank goodness. He turned 8 today.

Bundle up again in the evening for the late season sporting events.

I have been inundated with photo ops and photos. I have been getting printed about 50 photos a week with no hope of ever getting them scrapped. Instead I have been finishing up hand sewing projects while I watch mindless television. Here is one of the photos from a shoot I did this week with dgds.

Have you considered scrapping your 1-2 favourite photos each week and putting the rest in pocket pages?

myboysnme That is an adorable photo! I'd enlarge it and frame it so I could see it everyday.

i am toying with making xmas cards this year too. if i do, i will only do it for family (which is thankfully small) and the rest will get boxed cards. i think the small amount i would have to do takes the pressure off somewhat. now i just have to decide what design i want and if i want to do die cuts vs stamping.

I finally ordered my now college freshman's graduation photo from Lifetouch.
It came in the mail yesterday.
Folded in half, sandwiching all the other mail, secured with a thick rubberband.
I guess the mailperson didn't see the huge "Photos enclosed: Do Not Bend" printed on both sides of the 11" x14" cardboard mailer.

LavenderLayoutLady That is awful. The mailman at my old house would do things like that. One time he dropped the thick, padded envelope with photos for my neighbor in the slushy street, ran it over, then placed it in the mailbox. I was picking up their mail for them and fortunately the photos were actually ok. I opened the envelope immediately to make sure they weren't wet. I am so glad I have a bigger box here at my townhouse. There is no need to fold anything.

Today is the day! I am going to scrapbook most of the day. My grandson is out of town for hockey with his dad (my son) and my daughter.

I finally have a small success to share. My 2004 family album is finally organized. Not scrapped yet, but in order, with photos from all the different cameras, digital and old school, from all the various relatives, teachers, and team leaders. I haven't done any real scrapping all year because the photos were too much of a mess, so I've been taking advantage of the table space at the once-a-month Saturday crop in my area. It's at an enormous church social hall, so no one minds if I take up two 6 foot tables with my project. I can't do that at home! It feels so good to check another one off my list I finally ordered my now college freshman's graduation photo from Lifetouch. It came in the mail yesterday. Folded in half, sandwiching all the other mail, secured with a thick rubberband. I guess the mailperson didn't see the huge "Photos enclosed: Do Not Bend" printed on both sides of the 11" x14" cardboard mailer. That's horrible! Are they creased, or just curled a bit? Is there any chance Lifetouch would resend them without charging you again? Like, if you offer to return the folded ones to them? Or send them a photo of what the post office did to the mailer? How awful!

I will be hanging on this side more. Need a mental break from the heaviness of the NSBR side.
We went to the pumpkin patch on Saturday and then the disabilities picnic on Sunday. Had lots of fun.
Yesterday ds ended up at Children's for cardiac monitoring and thankfully is okay. EKG, x-rays, and labs all came back good. Just have to follow up with cardiology for Holter monitor and Echo as well as neurology for EEG.
I am hoping to craft this evening after dd does her college work and class. She has a midterm this week for psychology 101. It's an overcast cool day and I love to craft on these days.
Oh and the Chiefs won by 1 point. Whew!

pantsonfire I'm glad your DS is ok. I like crafting on dark days, too. It's supposed to be raining soon and I have 2 hours free, so I'm heading down to my happy place!

Hurray for feeling organized, msliz! I know this will make you feel more relaxed about scrapping again. Glad to hear you are crafting, mikklynn and pantsonfire. What a disappointment, LavenderLayoutLady! I hope that pressing the photos get them flattened out. Those granddaughters of yours are so cute, myboysnme and I love how you set up all those photo shoots with them. Those photos must be a scrapbooker's dream to play with. I took a bunch of leaf photos this month, but have scrapped only one of them. I think I will take all my fall scrapping supplies to the crop at the end of this month, and scrap them then. If you want to make Christmas cards, papersilly, you should. And deciding you don't have to make them all will take the pressure off a bit. I make most of the cards that go out from this house, but I started with Christmas cards. If you find a design or technique or supply you like, there are lots of ways to streamline your process--or mix it up, whichever you enjoy the most. I have not made any Christmas cards yet this year. Believe me, it is not because of lack of supplies. I am afraid to open my Christmas craft supply closet... Thinking I would like to play with my new foiling plates that could be used to make some pretty elegant cards. And tomorrow Jaded Blossom drops their Christmas add on dies for their gnomes, so those could work nicely for fun cards if they get here on time. I also need to make a couple of birthday cards and an anniversary card this month.

I finally got around to ordering some prints from Lifetouch from my granddaughter's commencement ceremony. Holy cow, were they expensive. I wanted a few for her scrapbook, parents, and other grandparent.

Happy Halloween!
I took some photos of my grandson carving his pumpkin last night. It will be the first time in a few years I have Halloween photos to scrapbook. Yay!
