On another thread, Laurie referred to Trump as a toxic ex boyfriend. One that you can't get rid of, one that won't go away no matter how desperately you want to be done with him. Almost every week, there's a new book with new details. And there's no low that Trump won't sink to - he's like the Mariana trench of politicians. I respect Maggie Haberman and some of the other authors, but at the same time, I'm frustrated. Why did they wait until they published a book to reveal some of these details? Here's one from Haberman's book that is new to me. Moving the embassy didn't make sense at the time, now it does.

Haberman writes, Trump accepted a $20 million Super PAC contribution from the billionaire Sheldon Adelson to move the U.S. Embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.)
just another example of why he was never fit to be president

According to the book, several Cabinet officials believed Trump had issues with female leaders. He disliked former German Chancellor Angela Merkel and described her in a meeting as “that bitch,” Haberman writes.
Trump’s former Defense Secretary Mark Esper believed Trump’s push to withdraw US troops from Germany was purely out of personal spite, according to the author.
and this revelation is not surprising but it highlights how he doesn't have the character, integrity or ethics needed to be president

"Yet there it was: Reflecting on the meaning of having been president of the United States, his first impulse was not to mention public service, or what he felt he’d accomplished, only that it appeared to be a vehicle for fame, and that many experiences were only worth having if someone else envied them," Haberman wrote.
this is just disgusting

Haberman vividly captures Trump’s lack of couth. For just one example, according to Haberman the president chose to enrich his first meeting with a foreign leader, Theresa May, by asking the British prime minister to “imagine if some animals with tattoos raped your daughter and she got pregnant”.
Not from the book, but Michael Cohen and this is entirely plausible regarding the classified documents

"He's gonna use it as a get out of jail free card," Cohen immediately shot back. "It's a way to extort America turn around to say if you put me in jail, if you go after me -- he'll even say his children -- I will have my loyal supporters who you do not know who has copies of information that may have been, and again this is my conjecture, that I would take those documents, I will release them to Iran, to China, to North Korea, to Russia.
