Is anyone else having issues with AliExpress where you click on the button to add something to your cart but it won't actually go in the cart? The buy now button will work but I can't add individual items to my cart.

I've had the same issue from the browser a few days ago; I switched to the app and from there I was able to add to cart normally. I ended up not placing the order but it was working fine from the app.

the other day my problem was checking out. i was shopping from my new favorite shop and an error message told me to buy my items from another seller. WTH? so i took one item out of my cart (i had two from the same seller) and the checkout went through okay. so weird.

This happened to me last week, but when I switched to a different browser it was fine. (From Safari to Firefox) You might try that and see if it helps.

Sometimes clearing cookies and cache will help or even just rebooting your computer sometimes does the trick too. Or if you don't want to delete all cookies/cache most browsers will allow you to view cookies and delete the ones related to the website you're having trouble with.

Just checked and AliEx is working fine for me (MacOS, Firefox). No trouble adding items to the cart or removing them. I'd concur with jediannie; clear your cache/cookies for AliExpress and see if that doesn't resolve the issue. Sometimes things go screwy in there.

No issues adding things to the AX cart for me either. Alas. Been buying too much lately! (It's for a good cause but still.)
I'm having an issue with the wish lists, however. They changed the interface recently (at least on my European end of things) and it's nowhere near as easy or smooth to navigate as before. When I click on a wish list item, it automatically loads the product page in mobile page format which, no. I have to infinity scroll sans scroll bar (gotta use the arrow keys on the keyboard, yikes) instead of clicking pages for the wish lists now (ugh). It's really bad and I hate it. Not helping finding items to purchase at all. Here's to hoping AX change it up soon or revert back.

I still cannot add anything to my cart. I’ve cleared my cache and history and tried with safari, chrome and Firefox.
Guess the universe is telling me I don’t need anything. 🤷🏼♀️

I like to use my cart as a wish list so sometimes I'll get to 99 and it won't add another and I won't notice the error message at first.

Totally an aside, but what are you all buying from AliExpress. I might be tempted to go to the dark side and try buying something.

Are you running Adblock, uBlock Origin, uMatrix, Forget Me Not, Privacy Badger, Ghosterly, Greasemonkey, or any other extensions that sometimes kibosh websites? I assume you've already tried logging out and back in again, but if not try that too.

I spent time adding a bunch of stuff but went to my cart and just the 18 items were there. I removed everything from my cart and it is empty. I add something and I get a pop up that says the item was added and I have 18 item in my cart…um nope my cart is empty 🤦🏼♀️ I’m gonna try from my moms computer this weekend.

In the past when this has happened to me on other websites, I reset my router and that resolved the problem. Not saying that will fix your issue but it's worth a shot if you can do it easily. Or, if you have VPN software, try accessing it when connected to the VPN.

Totally an aside, but what are you all buying from AliExpress. I might be tempted to go to the dark side and try buying something. Pretty much all my crafty supplies except for paper and glue come from AliEx. Mostly I buy dies. Lots and lots of dies. 3-6$ a set I can afford and not feel like I've wasted my whole hobby budget on a single item. So, some caveats about buying there. If you don't hit the expedited shipping threshold or pay for faster delivery, it can take up to two months to stuff to arrive. Probably about half the stuff on there in metal cutting dies are knockoffs of other brands. The rest are things like generic shapes, rarely exclusive designed-for-that-shop items, and designs adapted from clipart or other vector images.
Like eBay, there are thousands of individual shops/sellers on AliExpress. The service and quality varies. I would consider myself *extremely* picky and I get about an average of 1/3 of items that fail my standards and end up requesting refunds for. Typical problems might be things like the size is off, missing poke hole, manufacturing error / flaw, or rarely, damaged in the mail. While that might seem like a high failure rate, I've gotten refunds when asked for 99.9% of the time (when provided photo evidence of the problem, of course). It's worth the hassle for me because there's no way I'd be able to afford the variety of dies I own otherwise.
It's important to pick sellers who have clear listings. Read the reviews. If you are in doubt about what you're looking at, pass. There's almost always someone else who's selling the same thing or a very similar item. Shops vary on shipping costs, combined shipping discounts, coupons, and other bonuses. Read listing details carefully.
The search on AliExpress is, quite frankly, garbage. It heavily prioritizes showing sponsored, previously viewed, and wishlisted items no matter what search terms are put in, making it more like shopping a flea market than a store. www.pricearchive.org/ or reverse image searches are better at finding things on AliEx than its internal search is. Logging out helps a little too, but it's annoying. Shops and listings tend to be transient, very few stick around for years. There are regular sales, the biggest of which being on November 11 (11.11). Most months have some kind of sale, usually in the realm of a 10% discount on orders of 40$ or similar.
If you open a dispute, never, never, ever close it, no matter what the seller tells you. Once a dispute is in progress, let AliExpress deal with the resolution. You only have a 15 day window upon receipt of your package to put in a claim if something's wrong, so be proactive. Test everything you get as soon as possible, don't just toss it in a bin and give five stars because it arrived.
Other things I've bought include embossing mat, specialty paper, laser cut wooden pieces, stamps and assorted tools.

I ordered a stamp set yesterday but hit the buy now button and not the add to cart. I didn't have a problem. Let me find something to add and see what happens.
Sorry you are having issues.
ETA: I was just able to add a roll of washi to my cart. So no problems on my end.

I just want to address the bolded part, as well as share what I buy from Ali as well jediannieI consider myself to also be very picky. I have only opened a dispute on a few items. I’ve been sent a completely wrong die 3 or 4 times. I’ve received stamps that just do not impress well - they (silicone stamps) do not work as well as the photopolymer stamps that we are used to using. I stay away from stamps as a whole from Ali now. In the interest of full disclosure, I was warned about the quality of stamps before I made my first purchase there. I’ve also opened a dispute on maybe 2-3 dies where the letters ran into one another and were unreadable, or the die just would not cut no matter what. So my point is to reassure you a bit I’d say that I’ve had an issue bad enough to ask for resolution with maybe 5% of what I’ve purchased. Currently I have an order on its way from Memeda for foam dots, foam domes for wood handled blending tools, and a nesting triangle die set. I’ve also purchased poke tools from them, the acrylic sheets for shakers, and the like. For me (west coast USA) my orders almost always arrive in 2.5-3 weeks. Some shops I recommend without hesitation are: Papilio, Piggy Store, AddyCrafts, and AliliArts. Have fun shopping, you can find some super deals on all sorts of crafting supplies!

As I said, I'm very, very picky - as discerning as you could possibly be. My success rate for other online shops is probably only better because I often re-buy things I know I was happy with, which doesn't apply to cutting dies. The rate of 'significantly flawed' like wrong item, lost in transit, broken, or unusable items is far lower than 1/3, more like MichyM's 5%. If you aren't ultra-picky about exact sizes and fit for complicated layering dies or compatible sets, then things get much easier.
AddyCraft, AliliArts, Piggy Store and Papilio all stock knockoffs, if that's a concern. (They may also have generic stuff, I haven't browsed them extensively but all feature recognizable brands on their front pages.)
Shipping to the US is notably faster than to Canada. It does vary by destination.

So after way too much research, the issue is the AE cart is on the .com website but due to some “upgrade”, in the US, iOS browsers are now redirected to the .us website which is where the products reside. In essence you are adding to a cart you cannot access.
The work around for iOS is to use the app. I was able to add everything to my cart using the app then go to the desktop site to pay.
I’m going to try on a windows PC using Firefox. Apparently that still works. 🤷🏼♀️

Glad you figured out the issue, even if it's a bit of a letdown that it's not actually something that can be fixed on the user side. Hopefully AliEx is just in transition and they'll resolve the cart issue. I have noticed they seem to have a mish-mash of mobile and standard web design and a few things that simply don't work on desktop, like some links in Message Center. It just tells you to check on the App... that I don't have.
