Hello! Ryann and I are sharing Tuesday duties, I'll be doing the first and last Tuesday of the month, and Ryann is doing the two in the middle of the month. We wanted our theme to encompass scrapbooking supplies since the majority of cardmakers here are scrapbookers so.... Today's project is simply using strips of extra cardstock. We've all got those narrow strips that we cut off, never to see the light of day again. Here's your chance to use them! The twist: use ONLY scraps (yes you can cut them to size), no cutting into a fresh piece of CS. Second twist: make it textural either by adding texture to your BG, or raise up parts of your design by making a thicker or using foam dots, etc. If you are collecting points for the team challenge, the points are: *Create a card based on the challenge: 2 points *Apply the twist to your card: 1 point *PLUS: create the card AND use BOTH of the twists for a bonus of FIVE points! Completion bonus: complete at least one card for ALL the CARDtober challenges for a COMPLETION BONUS of FIFTY points. Examples:

Love this - as an 8.5x11 scrapper who buys mostly 12x12 cardstock - I have a seemingly inexhausible supply of scraps. Your cards are beautiful MichyM

I'll often buy 12x12 if I can't find the color I want. Being a cardmaker, my storage for CS is 8.5x11, so I have lots of strips that get cut off as soon as I get home.

Your cards are lovely MichyM - I love your color combos. I feel like I need to choose better colors when I do this kind of card. Linda this sounds like a perfect challenge for you! and I love that you embossed the panel. I've never tried that.

I love all the takes on this challenge! I have never tried to use scraps this way before. Usually I just cut them into banners and other small shapes.

azcrafty Such precise and lovely work. I love the colors and the spacing of the strips. I'm not sure how the stitching on the strips was done. That looks tricky and fiddly, and executed to perfection. scrapnnana Your strips that you placed and embossed look so special. I love how the cat is grounded and there is space for the bats to fly.

MichyM, your cards are gorgeous. You have a way of making whatever you do look so professional. Thank you for the challenge. I love using scraps and don’t often think of just making strips. I hope to scraplift your cards. Linda, I love purple so your card really speaks to me. I love the embossing folder you used and the way it makes the strips look like all one piece. Beautiful calligraphy on your sentiment. jjpeapea, your card is so sweet. I love all the Christmasy designs on your strips. I love the shape of your Merriest Christmas sentiment. Is that a punch or did you just cut it. I am impressed that your skinny JOY is doubled and looks so perfect. I struggle to double those very thin fonts. Beautiful Christmas card. azcrafty, you have a lot of texture on this floating strips card. It think that counts as the twist. I love the design and the lovely colors on this card. Perfect sympathy card. You have love in the gallery. scrapnnana, I love your Halloween card. The strips with the embossing are a great background for your cute black cat and inked edge sentiment. Love that little rhyme! Your bats are delightful. Totally cute and spooky card. This will brighten someone's Halloween. I am running out of room to post on my Flickr acct so I have grouped my cards together to save space. The first one is for this challenge. I am afraid the embossing folder was a little too much texture. Next time I think I would emboss only the circle or the background, but not both. Hello Card and Birthday Card
