After maybe 10 years, I have finally used an entire bottle of Mister Huey's Oro (gold) spray from Studio Calico.
Can you recommend a replacement?
I will NOT ever ever ever again use Heidi Swapp's Color Shine after the great DD album debacle of 2021.
Is there something that mists in the same way?
Is there something that dries nicely and not sticky?

I feel your pain. I bought the Brutus Monroe Chroma Mist in Ornament Gold hoping it would do well. I'm not impressed.

What the heck is the great DD album debacle of 2021? Jen Hadfield also had a gold spray around the same time as Heidi Shine.

Gold spray paint is what I use. Not exactly the same, but depending on what you want to do with it, it would work (for like splatters).
Edited: Nuevo has a gold spray that I saw at sb.com. There are a couple other brands that have some as well. Maybe read those reviews and see what everyone else is using?

For gold I bought the Dina Wakely Gloss Spray in Gilt with mixed results. I've used it in other colours and loved it--the white is fabulous. It takes awhile to dry and has almost a 3D texture.
I used the gold on one layout and it looked great. I used it on another and it was truly awful. I think my splatters were too big and dimensional and they dried oddly. Now it looks like I have a piece of caramel stuck to my layout.
ETA: I have exclusively used it to make splatters using a paint brush. I have not used it as a proper mist with the sprayer as intended. I think that would give a finer result and would likely be just fine.

Brutus Monroe Chroma Mist in Ornament Gold Ok, thank you. Bad reviews are better than no reviews. What the heck is the great DD album debacle of 2021? Ha! I wanted to add a bit of shimmer to a very white album inside cover. My Mister Hueys was almost out so I used the Color Shine and it dried really sticky and it was a disaster. I ended up having to use a hand sanitizing wipe to get it off. What a mess. I was able to salvage the album but I threw that color shine right in the trash. Dina Wakely Gloss Spray in Gilt with mixed results. Thanks. I should add that I don't necessarily need gold. I just need a new brand to love and cherish.

I love my Dylusions sprays especially the shimmer ones! After dinner I will take some sample photos for you. There is an orange that has a golden hue that I love.

I had a bottle tip over and leak into a plastic tub I was using to transport my inks and sprays to a crop, and I am STILL trying to get rid of the stickiness! Have used hand sanitizer, soap and water. Thought I had wiped every ink pad base and cover, but that stuff is still icky to touch. Really glad I didn't get it on any of my projects...

When I want white or metallic splatters on my layout, I just water down some acrylic paint I have. I like using craft paint because I know it is water based for easy clean up and you have more metallic color options. Also, the paint is more opaque when it dries, so it is easier to see on the finished layout.

Sometimes I use metallic watercolors for splatters. I have a great metallic Prima set that has a nice gold color. They don’t dry sticky

I had a bottle tip over and leak into a plastic tub I was using Oh no! I hate messes like that. I spilled some of this weird acrylic paint that I have on the rug in our office/craft room. It's a crappy rug because of the crafting but the poor cat sitter tried to clean it when we were on vacation. She sent a picture and everything. I felt so bad. Now I have to point out any new stains to her. I have a great metallic Prima set that has a nice gold color. I will look into these. The sprayers on the prima packaging looked a bit aggressive. It's like windex or something. How does that handle? I sound like I'm car shopping. Ha! We need LSS!!!

Oh and they are not sticky. The shimmers take a little longer to dry over the non-shimmered sprays. I was quick so that is why they are blotchy.

Oh and they are not sticky. Thanks so much for doing all this! I will definitely check these out. Stickiness is the biggest selling point for me.

Nuvo has two gold sprays, a lighter and a darker. I LOVE them both. No issues at all!
