Today's color challenge is to create a card using Soft/Light/Pastel/Subtle colors. Think light pink, coral, light aqua, mint, baby blue, butter yellow. The twist is to create a second card that uses at least one element of the first - an image, background, shape, embellishment. (It's Ok to create two identical cards.)

I did one last night at the SCT Let's Stamp Together! It's my first kit from them, and I was happy with what we did with the kit. I'll have to make another one for the twist! Thanks for the challenge jjpeapea!

MDscrapaholic Wow, so many nice little touches - the thread in the flowers, the shiny textured flowers, the stitches on the label. Did the paper come printed or did you need to stencil it? Perfectly pastel.

Here's my twist! this one has the stencil done with clear paste - which was messy but fun! After it dried, I used my brushes to spread ink on it. How many points for the twist?

MDscrapaholic What a nice companion to your first card with so many elements in common but the card is uniquely different. The challenge+twist is worth 5 points all together.

Who would of thunk I'd really like pastels? LOL Here's four more cards in pastel colors using stencils! Actually, the ink color is darker, but using a light touch with the brush gives it a pastel shade. Love these!

I was already working on the thank you card so I just made a quick card to be able to use it for this challenge. Not sure if the colors are pastel enough jjpeapea. CARDtober #13 by Azcrafty, on Flickr

MDscrapaholic your cards are wonderful. That TE stencil is great , now I'm sorry I didn't get it or the other slimline Christmas one. Hopefully she'll have a good BF sale. Love the colors you choose. Can you tell me what they are?

jjpeapea, thank you for the challenge and thanks for hosting us. Your cards are very pretty. Your pastels are beautiful. I forget to use pastels and was happy to try this challenge. MDscrapaholic, your stitched flowers are so pretty. I love that shiny cardstock you used. Your use of the stencil on the background really adds depth to the card. Great sentiment. ~ I love the flowers without the stitching on your 2nd card. That clear paste through the stencil is stunning. Beautiful colors. ~ Those pastel Christmas trees are wonderful. I never think pastel for Christmas, but these are amazing. I love both versions! You are an over-achiever on this challenge! LOL azcrafty, how I love those little pandas. That stair-step card is such a great look. Love, love, love your pastel clouds. I plan to scraplift that on a layout one day! Linda, your pastel pinks are really pretty. I tend to use more brights than pastels, so I had to hunt for pastels. Your sentiment is so pretty and so versatile. I love that flower that curls up the side. Great idea. Beautiful cards. I bought this Stampin Up set several years ago with my DD. Neither of us has used it, so I decided to make pastel soda pop. I used Distress Inks with a light hand. That's the most stamping I have done in years...and I have the inky fingers to prove it. Pop Bottles

nylene so glad you got to use your stamp kit. Such festive bubbles and soda bottles! And each little matching straw - that's dedication!
