I loathe Pinterest with its stupid obfuscation of links and overly curated content. It clutters search results, superseding websites with actual content. I'd be happier if it didn't exist. Can only imagine how much worse it is for folks who don't run a suite of privacy/blocking extensions. OMG yes! It drives me insane when I need to do an actual Google search and the first three pages are Pinterest boards that don’t go to what I’m looking for. I’ve had to get in the habit of searching Google with -Pinterest at the end so it doesn’t bring up all that garbage.

Nope. I can’t remember the last time I checked Pinterest.

I just started a new board on Pinterest last week after not having been on it for over a year. I'd love to set up a home library one day so started pinning books, authors, library decor, desks, etc to a Future Library board. It's a fun escape when I have a little time here and there.

I do still use it regularly for recipes. And I will also use it for specific things I am working on, like house decor, diy projects, etc. But never for random browsing.

I still browse, but definitely not as regularly as before. I think this is because I've pretty much stepped back from crafting (which is what I originally used it for) and really hate both the ads and the stupid algorithms which mean that it's the same old same old that comes up on my home feed. I really like when they had categories and you could go and click on a category and choose your own browsing from there.
I use it mainly for recipes now (though, algorithms keep throwing up similar to already pinned things when I really want new ideas) and sometimes I just feel like looking at pretty things, art inspiration and so on.

I do still look at it, but a lot less than I did in the past. I hate that if I look for one thing, my feed fills up with all that one thing.

I’ve always wanted to do this too! We had a perfect room for it in our old house but then we moved to a place 1/3 the size. So I’d love to see your plans or photos when you get it finished! Such a fun idea.

I use it to search for recipes, but I rarely just browse or look through my feed. It's the place I've had the best luck looking for something semi-specific when i want to make something new with specific ingredients.

I use if frequently but mostly to refer to things I've pinned or pin things I've found as a means of organization and sharing with my kids and their SOs.
I read magazines on the iPad free from our library. When I want to save a recipe or idea, I take a screenshot and pin the image to my board for that topic. I still pin things I find around the Internet a couple times a week.
I do not go there searching for recipes and I'll only repin a recipe if it's from a reputable source---not an average Karen with a Kitchen trying to churn out blog content. Like someone above said--got burned too many times buying ingredients for a recipe only to follow it and have it be awful.
I do search craft ideas or home improvement/decor if I have a project in mind.

Can only imagine how much worse it is for folks who don't run a suite of privacy/blocking extensions. When googling if you type a minus sign (dash) before pinterest, it won’t be included in your search. So if I’m searching on petunias I’d type “petunias -pinterest“ (without the quotes since putting words in quotes in a search means those words in that exact order will be searched for). You can use the minus sign aka dash with any word(s) you want to eliminate. It works fairly well. Occasionally I forget to use the minus sign, and once in a while a pinterest suggestion is a good one, but other than that I don’t use it.

Thanks for all the comments. I rarely get links that don't work. I discovered that if I click on a link directly rather than just clinking on the picture or name of the recipe, it takes me right where I need to be. I have made some duds (apple fritter bread) but for the most part, I have been happy with most of the recipes I try. I had broiled brown butter salmon last night and it was tasty.
I save things to my Paprika app sometimes even if they aren't food related. I use Paprika all the time and for me it seems easier to keep track of things there.

Oh I know, I just can't always be bothered, especially when I'm using other extensions to pull embedded images or reverse image search. And DuckDuckGo over google, every day. It's annoying how many extensions and scripts it takes these days to un-corporate-ify the internet enough to make it usable.

I spend some time most days pinning things. Right now I'm pinning ideas for my Halloween costume. Another big one is fashion ideas and recipes too.

My daughter has been pinning ideas for her wedding and sharing the board with me. I hadn’t been on Pinterest for years until she started. It’s been working really well.

Oh yes! At least weekly I look at crafty stuff - cards, copic coloring, distress ink mixes, silhouette tutorials, svg files, etc

I regularly scroll through my feed looking for scrapbooking ideas. If I am in a receptive mood, I end up saving tons in one visit. Then another time I may not see anything that draws me in. I tend to pin only pages and card ideas, so their "for you" suggestions are pretty on target.
I don't like the Harry Potter style moving ad's that detract from the actual content, and don't seem to be related to my search.

I am making tacos and English muffins today. Both are from Pinterest. So far I have had to tweak the taco recipe for next time.
UPDATE: The English muffins are raising now. Will update when they are done.
I think they have potential. You use a griddle on low to make them. The first one I tasted was not done enough. I adjusted the riddle time and popped them into the oven (as suggested) for 10” . They tasted good though. I checked the King Arthur website and Pinterest and both recipes were the same.
