I have just this second learned about "swiping" instead of typing each letter to text. hahaha lol at me. Of course it was my dd who told me about it. I tried and was moderately successful, which dd says will get better if I practice. I told her I'd be practicing on her so I could blame her for any typos. If you're old like me do you text by swiping? I'm so bad at letter-by-letter typing on my phone that swiping couldn't be any slower, so I'll give it a try. lol.

That might be nice to know, swiping? But I have no clue what it is.

Been swiping for years, back when only Android had a Swype keyboard. My daughter was making fun of me for tapping and showed me the magic that is (was) Swype.
Now I use the Google keyboard.

I have given it a brief try but didn’t take to it. Maybe I could have tried harder, I don’t know but it looked like chaos so I went back to what I know 😁

That might be nice to know, swiping? But I have no clue what it is. You don’t lift your finger off the keyboard/screen, you just zoom from one letter to the next.

I think you have to have an OS or update to your OS that supports it. Apparently my old phone that I just upgraded from couldn't do it.

Most of the time swipe. Thumb typing hurts so I never do that, and swiping is much faster than one finger letter by letter typing, which drives me nuts since on a regular, separate keyboard for a PC or iPad I type very fast.

I turned swipe off. I don't like it. I type each letter, with correct spelling and punctuation.

I wish I could turn swiping off on my phone because I prefer to tap and some days my keyboard is a little touchier than others. I could on previous phones, but when I have looked on this one I can't see an option to do so. I tried swiping recently but I just couldn't get the hang of it.

I type each letter but with both thumbs. Or I do voice to text (typically thru my watch, or even on the phone if I have a lot I want to get out, LOL). I am pretty fast and accurate with my thumbs. I watch friends text with one finger and am like

I do both. There are a few apps that don’t allow swiping. I am swiping this message. It puts in apostrophes and corrects spelling. I know the Android phones were able to swipe before the iPhones could. And yes, swiping did put the small i and capital P in “iPhone”.

I turned swipe off. I don't like it. I type each letter, with correct spelling and punctuation. That. Also, if I am at home I will do all text messaging from my desktop because it's much easier with a real keyboard.

Well I guess I'm not doing it right. Do you lift your fingers off between words? I was trying to write, "Let me try this." First time it wrote Penetrating and the second time it wrote Lamenting lol
We should all try the same sentence and see what it comes up with!

Many times I've texted someone when I'm out doing errands to say "more when I get home to my real keyboard." lol

When I once in a blue moon text from my phone I use a stylus that I keep in the little bag my phone lives in. I guess that is why I don't text from my phone, I can barely get it typed out with my fingers.

I prefer tapping to swiping. I can tap accurately without looking, but I have to have to look to swipe and I'm still not that accurate. I find it frustrating to do punctation, capitalization, double letters, etc, with it, so I'm just not motivated to use it.
