I turned swipe off. I don't like it. I type each letter, with correct spelling and punctuation. So much this. I find my spelling is better with swiping since it autocorrects. Now, I may swipe the wrong word, but it is at least spelled correctly. 🤣

I keep forgetting to do it, but when I remember, it is quicker. When I have to use words/names/place names that aren't in its dictionary though, things come unstuck. Sometimes I swipe SMSed to DH and leave the mistakes in to give him a giggle.

You don’t lift your finger off the keyboard/screen, you just zoom from one letter to the next. Well I just try I red it. So 3 shall. (We shall see).. no t do good... 😂 That’s my experience!

I just use voice to text, because I’m that lazy. Lol. Or I type with both thumbs (at teenager speed. Ha! )

I tap, but not with my thumbs. They are too big for typing and I have a bit of tendinitis in one of them. I either use my middle finger or pinky one handed.

Trust me once you get used to it it's way faster.
We have iPhones at work and they don't swipe, and I hate having to type out a text to a provider on that tiny keyboard.
But I will say that my Swype keyboard was a lot more accurate than the Google one. I get some crazy autocorrects and it's annoying having to fix them. This has really only been a problem within about the last year. It thinks it knows what I want to say so it will do what it thinks I meant to say, even when I turn off predictive text. Swype itself isn't a thing anymore or I'd switch back.

what the heck is this? Swipe? Never heard of it. Is this an extra keyboard app you download? Confused...
okay now I get it, huh. I never knew! I'll try it!

I've been swiping since 2010 I'm pretty sure. It's not new, though it's newer for iPhones. I use the Google keyboard now which you can tap or swipe on. I don't like the Samsung keyboard.

I swipe, have for years. But, sometimes the words that come up instead of the ones I wanted are crazy. It even gets annoying after a while, like why would you "phone" choose that word to use when it has nothing to do with the text.

I literally never text, and have only recently purchased a phone that didn't still have a physical full keyboard as part of it, so I had no idea you could swipe a letter! Learn something new every day at Peas.

I tried swiping years ago, my cousin was doing it. I don't think I stuck with it long enough to get good at it.

I am a thumb typer, not a swiper. My messages are a mess with swiping and autocorrect always chooses the most ridiculous words as corrections. That said, I don't often type full words because my phone is pretty good at anticipating my words based on context and initial letters, so I frequently use the feature that allows me to select from the words offered above the keyboard.
I am a fast thumb typer. I often take notes at meetings by typing into notes on my phone. I did that at a meeting I attended on Wednesday and when I exported them, I had thumb typed the equivalent of 4 full pages of notes!

So I've been swiping all day and I have to say that for me it's quite a bit faster than tapping each letter. But my question is, how the heck does the phone know what I want to say? I'm finding that it gets it correct 99% of the time. Technology is pretty amazing.

I've never tapped each letter, years ago when I bought a new phone the guy at Verizon taught me to swipe. So much easier for me. ETA: I also use the microphone on occasion.

I tried swiping ages ago, and found that I prefer typing with my thumbs. It's much quicker and more accurate. I'm sure if I practised swiping I would become quicker at it, but I'm going to stick with thumb typing.

I don't know what swiping is either regarding texting. I thought that was something people did on dating apps, says this ancient married woman.

Somehow I missed that this was a thing on iPhones. I knew about it on Androids. Now lets see if I remember to do it.
For some reason, this makes me think about learning Graffiti on my Palm Pilot. How I loved that Palm Pilot! ❤️ (aggressive heart to go with old tech memories)

I’m a tapper, but I send most texts from my iPad which has a bigger keyboard. I hate trying to type on my phone with my thumbs.
