Today is the DAY! Everybody ready to rumble?? I haven't had time to do anything, but did prep for Marie's class and Layle's class this morning. I'm so excited for Layle's class - I've done TN's before and am looking for new ideas on how to make them better! The stencil from Hero Arts is cute too, wonder what we're going to do with that one? I took off work so I could join in all the fun and maybe do some shopping. I hope everyone has a great weekend! Post here if you're participating and show us your projects!

The Violet Studio set was cute! Quick to put together - Mari Clarke from Crafter's Companion had some good ideas on how to use them. And the Colorista pens, the gold was beautiful and the silver very sparkly! I will def get some use out of those!

MDscrapaholic Nice work! I'm watching that class now. I'm on the west coast of the US, so I'm always a bit behind. I'm just watching the classes this weekend. I'll do the projects next weekend at a local in person crop. Hope you have the best time!

Ugh. We're in the middle of Layle Concar's TN session and I'm running a low grade fever and just feel yucky. I'm going to bed in hopes I feel better tomorrow. Bah humbug.

Hope you feel better tomorrow. My son isn't feeling himself today so I'm just listening to the class while I sit with him.

Thanks for the well-wishes, I woke up at 6:30 AM when my fever broke - my PJs were drenched! Quick shower and I'm ready to rumble for today. Gonna be a long day, hope I can get all the way through. Thankfully, they are taped so can watch them at a later date if necessary. I used the stencil from Hero Arts yesterday, and did just what she did (and she warned us to be careful) - I bent my stencil while cleaning it. Oh well, it's snowflakes and it has a bajillion little bits that stick out and get caught on my stamp shammy. If you look closely you can see it in the top left of the card. It was just a stencil from HA, the stamp is an old one of mine. I got halfway through Layle's TN class before I had to stop - love her energy! Since I've done TNs before, I'm going to skim through what I missed and finish the book later. I did manage to get the cover done. I think I'm going to try and watch her weekly YouTube on Saturday mornings. She made a good point that really resonated with me. She's been scrapping/memory keeping for 26 years. Her kids are grown. Empty-nesters. So she said her documenting has changed from 12x12 pages to a journal type book. She has so many TNs, she uses them for trips, lists, holidays, everything. She said it's not about my kids/family anymore, it's about ME. What I like, and what I do. That really hit home with me, and as I did two daily journals during the pandemic, I agree - I like this new type of memory keeping. I'm going to use this TN as a December Daily-type book, starting next week on Thanksgiving day.

MDscrapaholic - glad to see you're feeling better. (Some day someone is going to have to tell me how to make the names of the people you're talking to blue!) I know we can always re-watch the classes, but when something last minute happens and I do have to do that I always feel like I'm missing something. And, a suggestion for cleaning those delicate stencils. I keep a small spray bottle of alcohol on my desk and spray down the stencil when I'm done with it. The ink comes off easily if I just blot it with a paper towel. No need to rub to get the ink off.
That's all I've got time for now - back later (tomorrow!) to critique. So far, so good!

Getting a headache listening to Virginia Nebel (no fault of hers!) so am going to have to call it a day. Dang. Will have to catch Jess Forster another day. Of all the weekends to feel wonky... Why couldn't it be a work day so I could take a sick day?

Thanks. Feeling a little better today but still running a low grade fever. Of course, it will be gone at 8 am tomorrow when I have to work.

Why couldn't it be a work day so I could take a sick day? Hope you are feeling better soon! I only finished one layout -- the 12 x 12 from Jess Forster's class. I really want to try Virginia 's ideas and will work on that class this next week.

The short version of a critique - my husband said it had been quite a while since he'd seen me do a 12x12 layout and that he really liked this one (the one-page layout by Jess) and that I should do more. I'm in the process of getting them all done from this weekend and I'm ready to get back to 12x12 scrapping. I found this weekend to be very inspirational. I just had to assure him that after buying "thousands" of dollars of card making stuff, I wasn't going to quit making cards!

I felt really inspired by the card events, and they turned me more into a card maker now, but 12x12 scrapping is still my main bag. So kinda like you, in reverse Glad you had a good time!
