Your color challenge today is Sophisticated, Subdued, or "Neutral" tones. Think mauve, honey, slate, rust, moss, chocolate. The twist is to use words or text as a background element, such as a word cloud, repeated word stamp, a dictionary definition, or a page of text.

jjpeapea what a fun challenge. Love your card , did you use a page from a book? Here is my take on this challenge. I got lucky that I just purchased a card kit from Spellbinders and the ephemera pack had all this muted colored elements. The background is an old Paper Pumpkin element that I really loved and made some copy of them. It was a little too sharp looking with the black and white, so I took a white ink cube and dragged it across to mute the colors. Used a little bit of gold to bring a little interest. jjpeapea , this was a great challenge, and I love your nautilus card. This one took me out of my comfort zone a bit. azcrafty , your ephemera adds the perfect, lovely touch. I had this paper in my stash. The layers (White Rabbit, rounder bird cage, and small butterfly), except for the die cut rose, were cut from other sections of the paper and added on top.

jjpeapea , thank you for the challenge and for hosting us. Your card is very pretty. Is your background a stamp or a page from a book. It is a great look. Your Christmas greeting made me giggle! Very clever. azcrafty , I love the colors on that Christmas card. So very sophisticated. I left love in the gallery. scrapnnana , you have the most wonderful stamps. Each of the stamps you have used are so pretty against the text paper. I especially love the negative space butterflies that show up so well. The little red flower in the center is the perfect embellishment. It really draws the eye in, then see everything around it. Beautiful work. The dragonfly card is for this challenge. I have had this text stamp for ages, but never had a reason to use it. IT was fun to ink it up and do some stamping. Dragonfly is a die from Stampin Up. Cardtober #20 and #16

scrapnnana that is very special! Your layered images look so good together. nylene Lovely! The words in the background are a great backdrop, and I like how the ivy vine trails up the bag and gives the dragonfly somewhere to be.

scrappyrabbit I love it! All the special touches - the dots, the gold, the pretty pink, the word background - all combine to to make a lovely card.
