I've recently gotten into junk journaling which has now gotten me back into the scrapping groove. My issue is with the 12x12 albums which I have mostly scrapped with for the past 20 years. Not only do they take up too much space, they are clunky and annoying. What is everyone's preferred album size? 9x12? 6x8? Do you separate your albums into themes? We are HUGE Buffalo fans and I have a ton of pictures from various games throughout the years. I have started a Disney album so I'm thinking about doing the same for the games. I'm interested to hear about everyone's preferences Thanks in advance!

I have too much to say (even though I'm a single, empty-nester) to use anything other than 12x12. I do 8x10 WiTL and DD albums, though. At this time, I'm just doing Project Life, DD, and WiTL as I don't have time for much more.

I switched over most of my stuff to 9x12. The albums are so much easier to handle. I have taken 3 allison davis sketch classes and had no problems altering the sketches to 9x12. Sometimes if I have lots of photos I print them a little smaller, but usually I can get them to fit on the 9x12. I buy my albums at Scrapbook.com because they are 3 ring and the normal 8.5x11 and other smaller (6x12) page protectors with 3 rings fit also.

I started in 12x12, and now doing PL in 9x12 and then most of my project albums like trips and DD are in 6x8. Does not bother me to change sizes and it feels a lot easier to handle and look through.

I've been an 8.5 x 11 scrapper for 20+ years now - I've done the occasional 6x6, 8x8, and 9x9 over the years but not for our regular albums

I used to use post pound 12x12. When I moved to pocket layouts, I went to 9x12. Love that size a lot! I also did an 6x8 for December Daily. I prefer 9x12. Enough room for me to do a full 1 page layout or the picket pages.

12x12 for traditional scrapbooking 9x12 for Project Life 6x8 for December Daily
I've purchased other size albums when they go on sale, thinking I will use them for "something" but so far I haven't used them.

I checked 12x12 in the survey because I do a lot of that size. I also do 6x8 if I do December Daily or Week In The Life. I also do daily pages in a notebook that right now is 6.5x4.5 but I have used 6x8 and 3.5x5 as well.

I’m all over the place, 6x8 6x12 up to 9x12 or larger. But I usually dig out my fall scrapbooks and put them on display for a few months. Then bring out the December Daily books. I love the look of all the sizes together.

Most of my albums are 12x12. I love having all that real estate, whether for lots of photos or lots of scrappy elements. Occasionally I do a 6x8 album for a specific purpose, but always go back to 12x12.
I use Pioneer 3-ring binders when I can get them. They hold more pages, and are pretty sturdy.

I voted “other”.
I do 12x12 for PL
6x8 / 4x8 / 3x8 for trips
A couple 8x8 baby books
A couple 4x6 projects.

Traditional layouts: 12x12 in CM strap hinge albums exclusively, I like I can control how "thick" they get and don't have the huge ring binder spine thickness. PL pocket pages: 6x12 Dec Daily: varies - 6x8 most common along with mini albums of various sizes (I intentionally don't want them matching) Camping/ATV trips: I'm considering starting this theme, using a travelers notebook or 3x8 size album. I'd like to have snippets from all our trips altogether in 1 album. It's possible I may just do a separate 12x12 album for them, haven't decided yet.

I am a die hard 8.5x11 scrapper. I dabble in other sizes but for most of my work, its 8.5x11 all the way!

9x12 for weekly project life 6x8 and travelor’s notebooks for special topic albums
My old family scrapbook albums started with 8.5x11 but then I switched to 12x12 which is what most of them are.

I started out with 12x12 and am down to 6x8. We are empty nesters so I just don't take as many photos as I used to. I am considering a TN for 2023, by the time 2040 rolls around I'll be scrapping in an altoid tin, lol.

I've used all sizes:
8.5x11 - traditional scrapping from 1994 to 2000 12x12 - traditional scrapping from 2000 to 2020 9x12 - project life 6x8 - assorted mini albums over the years

I marked digital. I like 5x8" Blurb trade books for myself (JYC/DD mostly) and 7x7" Blurb photobooks to gift (which is what I've been using for several years and I like the consistency). Smaller is better for me and I prefer the book to be about an inch thick. I have an ephemera notebook that's TN size and that also feels good to me. I think 6x8" would be the biggest I would go these days but I don't care for ring bound albums any more.

All of my scrapbook layouts are 8.5 x 11. All of my layouts are in sheets protectors, in three ring binders.

12x12 for my everyday LOs and trip albums, 6x8 for WITL, and then either 6x8 or 10x8 for DD.

I’ve been scrapping since 1998 and started out with 8.5x11, sweating I would never change…but I did 😉. I’ve been scrapping 12x12 since for probably the last 1( years as I love the amount of space. I’m a big fan of white space, creative title work, journaling, and of course, photos. This size gives me plenty of room for my preferred elements.

I only create layouts (no cards, TNs, Bible/art/junk journaling, mini albums, special projects - e.g. DITL, WITL, OD, DD, JYC) & exclusively use 12x12 albums (that include various sizes/configurations of page protectors to hold extra photos & memorabilia).

I was 8.5x11 for a long time, but I did 12x12 for Disney trips. Now I am 9x12 all the way. (Except for DD and October album)
I love the rectangle format anyway and I can get so much more in a 9x12. The scrapbook.com albums are amazing and I love the fold out page protectors for when I need to add some extra photos.
