I am adding my prayers for it being benign. I HATE that you have to wait for your mammogram. There needs to be a protocol for seeing you immediately. Thanks! I think I could have gotten in sooner, but I had a lot of pain and swelling when I went in and the doc wanted me on antibiotics for a week "just in case" it was related to an infection to settle things down before the imaging. In hindsight, I think that part was just PMS-type breast pain, but I had an ablation and haven't had periods in over a decade, so it's hard for me to track hormonal swings. I guess it was a blessing in disguise, because the sore boobs is what led to finding the lump. PSA-do your monthly breast exams--I was definitely not doing them regularly. Oh, yes, I had already forgotten you told us about the swelling and antibiotics. What a great memory I have! It makes sense to wait until you have taken the antibiotics. I guess I was projecting my anxiety over having to to wait several days for a follow up ultrasound. Mine ended up being a cyst, like so many others. I am praying you have great results, too. |

I’d just like to add that there was a different “tone” for my callback with cancer. I’ve been called back before and they were just “oh, there’s something we’d like to see. Come on back in”. And this was a message from my doctor saying she wanted to see me and I needed more imaging and they definitely saw something that wasn’t fluid and she knew it wasn’t good. Sending lots of good juju. May it be a big giant nothing.

Thank goodness for cycts, huh? I figured it had to be since it grew so big so quickly. I'm certainly no expert in cancer, but I hadn't ever read that it grew that fast. I am relieved and overjoyed for you!!

That is the best news! The doctor showed me my ultrasound of the cyst in my breast. It's really obvious, so no need for a biopsy according to her.
