I have been tested 100s and 100s of times. First it was six days a week. Five of the 15 minute test and one PCR test (actually send to the health department). That went on for over a year or year and half. Then the daily test stopped and it was once a week. Then it went back UP to six times a week. And then back down again. Then just announced that it was going to be every two weeks. That hasn't even lasted a month. As of Nov 1st no testing. It is WEIRD not getting tested.
Just got shot number 4 on Tuesday (two regular doses and two boosters) got sicker than a dog (I have gotten sick on every shot). I swear I keep saying "never again".. lol Good thing about it, I get sick sick and 24 hours it is like it didn't happen. So weird.

I'm amazed that your employer has kept it up this long. Can't imagine the expense. Hopefully policies were in place to support positive employees, such as paid sick time? No limit to sick days? Paid exposure days?

If COVID gets in, it is really a bad situation, similar to a nursing home -- I definitely understand why those facilities have been extra cautious.

There would be no other way of it getting in here expect through employees and new offenders. So there was a lot of practices (some they are still doing with the offenders).. cleaning, testing, limited schedules in the early days, some went remote. We were compensated pretty good. (I miss that!) We got hazard pay since we were working in a high risk area. We got an extra vacation hour per month (I typically would get 8.00 per month for vacation, now it is 9 hours. In January, it will go up to 10 hours (I think it is 10) since I hit my 5 year mark. Bonuses here and there. There was paid time off if you got covid. I was actually sick yesterday due to getting a covid shot the day before, that will be paid time, I don't have to use my own time. So really no complaints...

It will be weird dropping something that has been part of your routine for so long.

My husband has been testing twice a week for his job and they stopped this month or maybe the end of last month. It becomes just part of your routine.
I can’t imagine testing six times a week and glad you are almost done.

Similar for us, working in the health service. To start with we had to test before every shift. Then it went down to twice a week. As from 6 weeks ago, they removed the need for wearing masks in the back offices and protected areas (still wear them if patient-facing) and we now only test if we're symptomatic.
That first week without masks I was on annual leave. The following week I came back to an office full of coughs, sneezes and snot. It was revolting. And I caught a cold. 4 weeks on and it's just leaving me.
I still feel naked without a mask when I'm out, but it's nice not to have to test.

Never been tested. Never had Covid (yet), although I was very sick with 'something' in February of 2020 that had the exact symptoms of Covid.
Had the original vaccine. That's it, and that is probably all I will ever get.
I am lucky in that I am never around a lot of people, so I am sure that has been a factor.
I practiced the social distancing and handwashing/sanitizer long before this all happened. I liked it when the stores were a little more proactive in cleaning carts and general door handles, etc. That seems to be completely abandoned.

Our agency still has that in place because of our DV shelter. I keep hoping we get the notice we can stop but not yet.

I was at a huge Kaiser facility and it sounds like they may test weekly but never had to test even twice a week. They did make us mask, took temps and had us sanitize our hands upon entry into the actual office back area.

I had bloodwork done this week and was completely surprised I saw no one wearing masks. This health facility is very large. I still kept mine on.

Not sure about work testing.....but I had to renew my driver's license last week and that eye checker thing is still sitting up front in all it's glory, and NO ONE is cleaning it between uses. Your whole face goes up against that thing. I felt sure before I went that that thing would be a thing of the past, or at least be wiped down each time. NOPE.

Yes! I’m a nursing home employee and in addition to personally testing and getting jabbed four times I’ve had the pleasure of testing and jabbing coworkers and residents I dare not count the occurrences.
All that to say I’m grateful for these vaccines. I helped double mask and double body bag too many times before they existed.

Wiping everything down is a relic from the beginning of the pandemic when we suspected contact transmission. Since we know it’s transmitted by respiratory droplets the focus is on masking and staying out of infected spray. I can see why the machine would give you pause though they do make individually wrapped wipes you can carry. I would have used it but held my breath lol.
