Hey Peas!
Anyone watching this new show "So Help Me Todd"? DH and I gave it a shot, and we are hooked! It's stars Skylar Astin, from Pitch Perfect and Marci Gay Hardin. Their mother/son relationship is awesome. Their family dynamics are really interesting and pretty relatable too. It's funny, drama, clever and has a touch of crime show at the same time!
We are really enjoying it. It comes on CBS after our other favorite show, "Ghosts". That one, we can't wait to see each week! My sister was visiting us from out of state a few weeks ago, and we binge-watched it with her to get her hooked! LOL!
Anyone else watching? Any new shows you love?

I really like So Help Me Todd. All of the characters are totally likable and have good chemistry with each other.
I thought the first episode of Fire Country was good but it’s become so hokey ever since. I’m really only watching it because Bode is so hot. 😂

I haven't tried So Help Me Todd, but I will now. I really like Skylar Astin. Love Ghosts, though. (I wish I could find the UK version of Ghosts streaming somewhere. I'd totally watch that, too. Charlotte Ritchie plays the part of the female owner of the house (the character has a different name in the UK version), and I loved her as Barbara in Call The Midwife.)

I love Ghosts! Both the American and British versions. Thanks for the reminder about So Help Me Todd. I saw a preview for it months back, and then forgot all about it. I love Marcia Gay Harden.

Thursday is the only night we watch TV live. We watch and enjoy Ghosts after Young Sheldon.
We are still watching So Help Me Todd but I'm not sure for how long. We liked it at first but the cases are so obvious. Also the characters aren't really developing very fast. It seems like Todd and mom have the same conversations over and over. In a procedural you either have to have interesting, challenging cases or ongoing drama with your recurring characters. This show has the potential for both so we may give it a couple more episodes.
A show that has improved from the pilot is Alaska Daily. I think the last two episodes have been much better than the pilot. I was afraid they were going to rely only on star power but everyone in the newsroom seems to be getting their own stories - pun intended.

I love Ghosts (although this is season 2, its not new) and I've tried a couple episodes of So Help me Todd but not loving it yet. Alaska Daily has grown on me although I didn't care for it at first. We're also enjoying Fire Country and Quantum Leap (although not as much as the first one). The Cleaning Lady we loved first season but now second season I'm not finding as good. Still enjoying La Brea though. Also liking the first couple episodes of The Winchesters that we've seen, even though I have never watched an episode of Supernatural.

I believe the UK version is on HBOMax! I will look for So Help Me Todd and I've heard Abbott Elementary is good too!

We LOVE Ghosts. We’ve had to pause the show as we were laughing so hard.
There are so few sitcoms anymore, at least that we’ll watch.

I just finished 4 seasons of UK Ghosts and loved it. It hooked me in right from the start, I laughed so hard in some parts. I hope they are making more. Then I watched one episode of the American one and nope...not funny at all. Won't watch the rest of it.

Also, I forgot about Quantum Leap. I love, loved the original so I was skeptical of this reboot. We actually really like it too! I love all of the references to the old show that they have. I really like the character of Ben and that his fiancé Addison is the new "Al"
Also, I really like the character of Ian.
The show is a bit unrealistic but if you can overlook some of the special effects that are lacking (think tv budget vs. movie budget), then the show is fantastic!

I should probably check it out!

I really enjoy Ghosts and Abbott Elementary. The principal on AE is just awesome. While a lot of the story lines are pushed a little too much, some are still very, very true.

One thing that adds to the humour for me is that often British shows like this seem to be made on a small budget and they do silly things like have the actors each play multiple characters in the same episode. Then show is a success and there's an American remake with a much bigger budget and it all looks too pretty and too slick. All the actors are too attractive and have perfect teeth etc, even the house looks too nice.

I didn't realise there was a new Quantum Leap, I'm going to give it a try - although I'm nervous because I loved the original so much.

Probably just Benny Hill when I was younger and sneaked into the living room when it was on! Hahahaa! I can see what you mean about the bigger budget, etc... on the American versions. Still, if I can find the British version of Ghosts, I'm gonna see what it's all about! :-)

When I watched episodes of Everybody Loves Raymond and The Middle, all I see is a cluttered house. I need to watch a few British shows that have one actor play multiple parts. That seems very interesting to me.

I loved the first season of Ghosts. I kind of forgot about it and didn’t realize it was still on. I need to find where I can watch and get caught up.
I’ve not watched a lot of British TV shows. I used to love “As Time Goes By”. I adore Dame Judi Dench.

am a fan of nice teeth. . If the house looks too cluttered, it turns into a character for me. When I watched episodes of Everybody Loves Raymond and The Middle, all I see is a cluttered house. Except there was no dental work for cavemen, and no teeth bleaching in the Regency era. It's an old, deserted haunted house, it's meant to be cluttered and dusty and it IS one of the characters.

I can see we don't have all of the same characters. No caveman on the American show.

We are kindred spirits. DH thinks I'm weird for having a thing about nice teeth and getting distracted by tv houses that are cluttered. The Roseanne/Connors house and Friends apartment were cluttered to me.

I am watching So Help Me Todd because I love Skylar Astin. I loved him in Zoe's Extraordinary Playlist. I loved that show.
I guess I need to try the British version of Ghosts.

I LOVE Ghosts.. so cute and original.
Haven't tried So Help Me Todd but I have recorded.
I have been wanting to like The Rookie: FBI spin off but not sure if I can stick with it.. I'm not sure why. I LOVE the original The Rookie.
