I’m curious to know if anybody has purchased from Studio Calico recently and what you all thought/got? I purchased their Halloween kit which I wasn’t too excited about it being 3 x 8, as that was very skinny. But those 3 x 8 cards are made from some really great shiny card stock, I was really impressed! Smooth too. I subscribe to the stamp kit & have been pretty happy with them. I usually wait till there’s a good sale like Black Friday to stock up on some kits. I saw their sneak peek of one of the November kits which has a bunch of butterflies and for some reason I think it’s the ugliest kit they’ve ever made… lol. I just don’t like butterflies in my crafting. Do people still like SC?

I mean, the Peas haven't posted much this month about them, but this thread has been ongoing since 2015 if you want to dive in: SC + the Peas

I don't subscribe, but place a few orders a year. I seldom ever use a kit all in one project, but I do like supplementing my PL card stash with some from Studio Calico. I agree that the quality of the cards is excellent. I also recently ordered some that were 3x8 thinking that I would likely just cut the cards in half to make them useful as 3x4 cards. That said, I haven't opened the package of cards yet to decide if I will do that, or just use them on a 12x12 layout with some other elements. I do like to pick up embellishments from them to go with my stash as well. They usually have some fun stuff that can be had for a reasonable price on sale.

I usually buy a bunch of random stuff when they have a sale. I've never had an issue with an incomplete order or something not being shipped in a timely manner. I think the quality of the products are pretty good.
But I'm about fed up.
I placed an order on 10/20 during the 40% off sale. They said there would be a delay in shipping. Fine. I get it. I will be patient.
I did not get a shipping notice until 10/28. Fine. 8 days to put stuff in an envelope. Fine.
But get this. They didn't actually ship it out.
The stuff is still sitting there. They haven't actually done anything more than create the label.
That's annoying to me. That is like giving someone false information. I cannot deal with lying or faking.

I buy from SC pretty frequently. I don’t subscribe, other than an on/off month-to-month to get sakes and promos. I end up with most of the DK kits, but at less than the subscription price would be - but I do often have to wait longer and have patience as a result, which works fine for me. The quality of most things is great. Some of it is dodgy with inconsistent product (label stickers have become awful). I’m not crazy about the newest designer (SM), so that’s a bummer. But I continue to find the DK the easiest stuff to work with for PL. I generally detest butterflies, but the November kit is pretty cute! I really like the color palette. As far as shipping goes, I’ve had really quick dispatch and transit times all year, until this last sale that blemon mentioned. It took a week to get my order moving out the door. Tracking says it’s arriving tomorrow (in CA), but since it’s still in Nashville I won’t be holding my breath.

I subbed to the documenter kit for 4+ years. I found myself selling more and more of each kit so it made sense to take a break from it. Generally, I do not like anything color theory, labels and alphas are horrible. I don't use washi at the rate they send it. When sorting unused cards, I noticed 11 of the exact same card from the past 1-2 years of kits. They recycle cards, styles and imagery a lot. That said, I still like their kits the best of what I've tried. So if you don't mind pink and butterflies, go for it. I generally loathe the owner, April Foster. She's a horrible person, terrible customer service. So expect the worst and be surprised when everything is fine?

Sorry everyone's orders are on hold or somewhere. I have one that's still out too. Atleast they dont do mystery boxes anymore... haha So many people got color theory and pre-made cards and stuff we dont typically use and the "retail amount" was a joke. I'm not fond of April either but I do still like some of the limited edition products.

My package is stuck in the usps somewhere. It left Nashville, and has not shown up anywhere else. It’s officially showing as behind schedule.
I ended up ordering the October DK with that 40% sale, so I was looking forward to this package to get PL taken care of. I have all of October to do. Hrmph.
