What’s your scrap-related true confession? Mine is the size of the stack of layouts that needs to be put into albums. My problem is I need to purchase some albums, but I don’t find that to be a “fun” purchase. So, I put it off, hence the stack of layouts.
Let’s have fun! Share your true confessions and we can laugh with one another!

I have over 400 pages of layouts that "just need pictures." I used to make them a lot when I found fun paper but didn't want to think about the pictures. I also have hundreds and hundreds of photos from 2002-2008 that need layouts.

I have stacks of layouts waiting for albums, too. Most are sorted by year and some are even in page protectors. I just haven't gotten around to it. And the pile keeps getting bigger. My confession - I have more Christmas paper and embellishments than I can probably use in my lifetime. But, I keep looking at new collections.

1. I have several (over 10) unfinished vacation albums. I’m REALLY trying to get better about finishing one before moving on to the next, but sometimes I get bored scrapping the same types of photos after a while.
2. Number ones biggest issue is this…I don’t clean up (or at least don’t put away supplies) between LO’s when doing a large project because I use 1-3 collections to do a vacation album, so I don’t want to put away what I might use right away for the next LO or two.
3. I buy a LOT more products than I use, but I always buy duplicates (sometimes 3-4) of something I REALLY like. Sometimes I end up using them all, most times I don’t.
4. I have iris boxes for collections that I buy a lot of, and for large projects. All 20+ of them are full, and I still have things that are unorganized. 🤦🏻♀️
5. I said I’d never use metal dies (I have two electronic die cutters that I never use. 🤦🏻♀️), or distress oxides (I didn’t do mixed media until fairly recently.).
6. I said I’d never do mixed media. LOL 🤷🏻♀️

I have a huge collection of sequins and shaker bits and bobs. Before that it was collecting ribbon. Before that was brads then eyelets. Do you see a trend? I think we have run the gamut of collecting embellishments unless someone comes up with a new trend. lol Thank geesus I didn't get into the washi faze. That one never stuck

We are having some repairs done his week so my daughter and I have been cleaning out our front room and she said to me "my mother is a scrapbook hoarder". She was teasing but I know my stash is ridiculous and I would be embarrassed for a non crafter to see it. I have slowed down on my buying but they just keep making cute stuff. : Also the way things get retired and discontinued creates a "get it before it's gone" mentality. They stopped making an album I loved so I learned the hard way that if you really love something you can't wait to buy, so that doesn't help with the "hoarding".

I got married in 2010 and still haven't made a wedding album... I've had a giant stack of October Afternoon's Thrift Store line set aside for it for twelve years and keep swearing I'll get around to it. I also did successfully scrap two vacations in 2014 and 2015, but never did the journaling for it and honestly I probably never will.

I hate photo printing, it's so boring but necessary. I need to print most of 2017-2022. I have mini album ideas but then I get overwhelmed with choices. Size of album, how to print journaling, do I have enough paper and embellishments, and the list goes on and on.

I feel like I'm fine ignoring the lines that always come out like Christmas, boy, and girl. There will be a sufficient replacement. When there's something really unique that fits my boring/weird life, I learned the hard way as well.

I have probably doubled my stash since the start of 2020. It wasn't particularly large to begin with so the increase is manageable, but very noticeable.

I went crazy and added lots to my scrap stash about 1.5 years ago. I haven’t made a page since. I make a lot of cards though.

cannmom can you read my tee shirt? I lugged a big tub, three rolly totes and a tool tray to the weekend crop. Came home with 28 pages that fit in my shoulder bag. (And hauled all that stuff—plus purchases and freebies—home again..,

Three times in the last year, I've went to put a page in my album and found out I'd already scrapped it. I'm not sure how I managed that since I order photos from the same place and can see when and what I last ordered... the funny thing is the journaling is almost identical so I guess I knew what I wanted to say...

At the moment I have two confessions to make. 1. I swore I would type and print journaling once I had a stack of 12 layouts. I wouldn't let myself have more than a dozen finished layouts without journaling because I've let them pile up in the past. Recently I opened my drawer and it was stuffed. It seems like they multiplied like rabbits in there. I need to do some journaling. 2. I gave up on a Disney album because I hated the supplies that I bought for it. Haven't touched it in months. Don't want to. The thought of trying to use all the hideous Disney themed Echo Park ephemera makes me hate it even more.

Thank you all for sharing your confessions. I can relate to many!
My confessions?
Right before I packed up my scrapping room (for family to use the room as a bedroom) and put it in the basement, I had just spent a gift card on a ton of new supplies. That I have never scrapped with.
I haven't scrapped in months.
I still need to order photo prints for July, August, September, and October.
I bought two die sets from Dollar Tree last month. Nesting heart and leaves. Haven't opened them. No idea if they'll actually work.

I have bags and bins of scrapbook stuff all around the perimeter of my bedroom, all over my dining room, and piled high in my used to be a craft room.

I have at least 100 page kits with and without pictures in them.
Sometimes I like making kits better than actually scrapping!!
However, it sure makes it easy to pack for a crop.😊

This is a good confession - hope that is allowed. Scrapping gives me a lot of happiness. I think it is like this article is saying about memories. I sometimes think scrapbooking is the main reason my mental health is holding up. As well as my daughter having disabilities, my DH has developed Parkinson's Disease, which has worsened significantly in the last 12 months. A lot of things I'd been hoping to do in my retirement (now less than 4 months away) I will not be able to do now, but at least I still have scrapbooking.

My late DH battled cancer for nearly 15 years. During treatment times, we were pretty much homebound even before covid. If I didn't have scrapbooking to enjoy and distract me, my mental health would have suffered a lot. I understand the escape it brings! You will love being retired and wonder how you managed to work and caregive. I hope you'll assign some time each day to crafting.

Here’s mine: I keep thinking I should slow down and not produce as many layouts/albums, because I don’t want so many taking up space one day. The rate I’ve been going lately is crazy… It’s an internal struggle.

I must have 50 stamp sets I have never used a stamp of that set. I tend to reach for the same set over and over.

I have an addiction to buying new scrappy stuff. I do use it but there is no possible way to use even a 1/2 of it in a lifetime. I’ve run out of room in my scrap space. It makes me very happy though.

i have an entire fully stocked craft room and yet....i can't believe i'm even saying this out loud.....i have NEVER done a 12x12 layout (or layout of any kind) or made an album for myself. ugh, there, i said it. i have also never been to a crop, have no desire to go to a crop or have never done a swap.
i have been papercrafting for over 30 years and yet i have never done any traditional memory keeping for myself. i've gone to SB conventions, CHA, and lord knows i've bought enough SB merch to prop up the industry. i love working on projects and learning new techniques and yet i am the least "traditional" SBer out there.

These are so good to read…I feel guilt about my unfinished projects! I have a lot of half finished mini albums, mostly travel. Every time I think I’m going to pick one back up again, Project Life is sitting there staring at me and judging. So I work on that instead.

The rate I’ve been going lately is crazy… It’s an internal struggle. I'm trying to reduce the number of pages for my grandkids. How I handled my own stuff is to tell my kids throw it in a dumpster, guilt free, when i am gone. I did them for me. The grands know to save what they want, dump the rest. Keep going if it brings you joy!

Oh there are so great!
I scrapbook 12x12, monthly Project Life album, travel albums, December Daily and WITL.
I am not a chronological scrapper. I detest scrapbooking most events (birthdays, christmas, etc), so I pretty much don't. I'll include a photo in the PL album and call it done. I've never purchased a birthday related collection. But have purchased (and never used) just about every Christmas collection ever.
I scrap because a photo has a memory or tells a story or evokes emotion. 75% of my 12x12 albums are a single 5x7 photo that I took.
I have scrapped the same photo up to 4 different times (unknowingly). I only discover this when I put the stack (of 100+) finished layouts into albums. Oops.
I rarely go back and look through completed albums or projects. This hobby is very much about the process for me.
I have boy/girl twins, they do not, and will not ever have their own baby albums. And that album is only finished through 6 months, they are almost 16.
WITL and DD are some of my favorite projects. My supplies come from Ali Edwards, and I love to print full size photos (expensive). When it's all said and done, I probably spend close to $400 on the album, supplies and photo printing. Zero guilt. But that kind of explains why I haven't been to Europe yet...
ETA - Unfinished project list - PL (caught up through July, that's terrible for me), DD1 gymnastics album, DD2 dance album (supplies collected, nothing started), honeymoon album (transferred from a falling apart photo album to a SC binder, just need to finish), Road trip Travel album from 2021, Summer cabin album from 2022 (70% done), a ton of projects around rebuilding my grandparents albums of ancestors and WW2 (need lots of space and dedicated time which I do not have).

However, it sure makes it easy to pack for a crop.😊 I have 5 dedicated Kallax cube shelves for my paper collections. When those cubes are getting too full, I make some page kits as they are stored elsewhere in my crafty room. Then it is like magic! I have room to shop again! 😄 I probably have more than 50 page kits waiting to be used. And I absolutely agree, sometimes it is more fun to flip through my collections and put together kits as opposed to creating actual layouts.

I'd say about 15 years ago I found the Cuddlebug die cut machine in my husbands garage. I was hoping he'd get me one for my birthday. I used it everyday and would pack it up and hide it back in his garage before he got home from work. He never found out that I used it multiple times before he gave it to me.
