I did a layout about one of my "sneaks". I'll see if I can find it and post a photo.

i have an entire fully stocked craft room and yet....i can't believe i'm even saying this out loud..... i have NEVER done a 12x12 layout (or layout of any kind) or made an album for myself. ugh, there, i said it. i have also never been to a crop, have no desire to go to a crop or have never done a swap. Don't feel bad; I'm in a similar boat except I have never done a scrapbook of any kind, and probably never will! I just like papercrafting and making cute things, even if they have no predefined utility. Playing with paper is enough.
For Christmas some yesteryear when I was barely a teenager one of my relatives gave me a paper crafting book. It had patterns in the back to be photocopied and was mostly different kinds of fancy boxes, paper flowers, even an articulated 3D dragon. I never actually got to make anything from it properly, because I didn't have most of the supplies it called for - floral wire, double sided tape, spray adhesive, fancy cardstock, etc. And while the book is long gone, but the love stayed behind.

cannmom can you read my tee shirt? I lugged a big tub, three rolly totes and a tool tray to the weekend crop. Came home with 28 pages that fit in my shoulder bag. (And hauled all that stuff—plus purchases and freebies—home again.., My true confession is that it takes me forever to complete a page. Dee went to a weekend crop and came home with 28 completed pages. I went to a weekend crop and came home with 6 half done pages- half done because I couldn't find anything among the supplies I took with me to finish the pages. Only 6 because I wasn't happy with any of the supplies I took with me to do the other 6 pages I planned to do. And I'm usually so happy to get close to finishing a page I will put it in an album before it's done. No stacks of pages sitting around in my craft room. I would guess that I spend an average of 8 hours per page working an hour or two at a time over the course of 4 or 5 days.

I absolutely love what you said. I swear I need to have that made into a wall plaque---"playing with paper is enough". The "book" for me were postcards I bought during a field trip in elementary school. I loved how each postcard told a story with just a photo. I loved the glossy cardstock they were printed on. I still have those postcards and the love for paper tom foolery that followed. Thus, my pea name. Lol

Voila! Took a bunch of shaking the internet like a kid on Christmas morning to see what falls out, but I finally tracked down the book that cemented my fondness for paper. This is it, though I remember it being white - the dust jacket was identical except white, while the actual hardcover was this weird lavender marble background. No idea why. And this is the dragon! Managed to find a scanned copy on the Internet Archive that I promptly scraped to my hard drive and now I have an electronic copy. Maybe I should give some of these projects another shot, now that I can afford the pretty paper, brads and adhesives to make them properly. Edit: Added it to the Z-Library too, in case anyone wants a download.

It was sold at the scholastic book fairs (my aunt worked in education). I was able to find it doing a quick search for “90s paper crafts book”. Like you, I didn’t make anything out of it, but I really loved looking at it, and the idea of making things from paper. I’d forgotten all about that book!

Didn't matter to me, I loved poring over many of the projects anyways. Though looking back now it's a bit funny thinking one of my relatives thought a craft book featuring wreaths, table napkins and alcoholic partyware was appropriate for a teen. They probably didn't look too closely at the contents.

I am loving these confessions.
Mine would be along the same lines. I have a lot of 'almost finished pages' to deal with because I had trouble getting at my stash of embellishments for a while. I am finally motivated to tackle all of that.
I would add: I have no problem purging. I have a a (former? I'm not sure... things are tense) friend who used to nag me about that... the whole 'why did you buy it if you weren't going to use it,' thing. Don't care.

I can’t be the only one who had the Michael’s Book of Papercrafts, right? Here’s an eBay link. www.ebay.com/itm/403117303566It’s also on Amazon and a few other sites. My confession is that I have way too much stuff. I try to purge but I still manage to fill a decent sized office/craft room with mostly crafting stuff. I recently limited my crafts to paper crafting and fabric crafts but I still have a lot of stuff. (I gave up on most yarn crafts and painting and other intro kits/ideas that I thought I may someday try…) I need to use my stuff ..probably organize my stuff better… but shopping is fun and takes a lot less time than actually using the stuff!

Don't care. wow, to that person i say, judgy much? i think we are all guilty of buying stuff with the INTENT to use it or maybe because we just want to have it. then the time comes when we no longer want or need it and it's perfectly ok to purge it.

I've "confessed" this before. I'm a failure as a scrapbooker because I neglect to take pictures. I just don't do it and I don't know why. For consistent scrapbooking I'm down to mostly two highlight albums a year and a monthly family activities layout with journaling about what we did that month. But when I go to put pictures of my son's birthday on the family layout, I don't have any, because I DON'T TAKE PICTURES. It's a major issue.
I also bought out three people's collections about a year and a half ago in pretty short succession. I am still sorting through that stuff and trying to shoehorn it into my hoard. I've used maybe 0.005% of it. Why I had to "rescue" this stuff is beyond me? I just couldn't bear the thought of this stuff getting trashed.
I used to have a bin fairly close to my work surface where I'd store new purchases until I used them at least once and then stored them in a more permanent location. But stuff sat there for over a year and I didn't touch it. I repurposed the bin because it made me feel guilty.

Confession: I spend more time cleaning and organizing my room than I do creating in it. This is also due to so many purchases I have made, that need to be organized lol

I'd say about 15 years ago I found the Cuddlebug die cut machine in my husbands garage. I was hoping he'd get me one for my birthday. I used it everyday and would pack it up and hide it back in his garage before he got home from work. He never found out that I used it multiple times before he gave it to me. I adore you. This is gold! I would have done this too.

I was feeling pretty proud of myself until this afternoon. We had a big ol' buck just wander into the back yard right after I filled the bird bath. He snuck up behind my husband and then proceeded to drink about 10 feet from me, rummage through the bird food bag and then went a hunkered down on the dirt right in front of me. I'm back up a good 50 photos! Now if you took away the pictures of wildlife and my dogs... I don't have a ton to go through!

I bet you did a great job acting surprised when you opened it! My scrappy confession is I like looking at supplies, buying supplies, and playing with the supplies more than actual scrapbooking. My favorite thing is to mix and match pieces and think of the possibilities. And then it takes me a long time to complete things because I keep stopping to look at more possibilities. But I’m having fun and that’s what a hobby is for. I AM caught up on my weekly PL so I’m doing ok, it’s the other projects I’ve started that “suffer.” Lol

I am secretly praying for snow days and bad weather so I can finally have some scrapping time. After a full work week, family and housekeeping I am lucky to get 3 hours on a weekend. Which means I only get half a page turned out and a mess to clean up.
I will never use up my stash in my lifetime - but I do have dgd's who would like to play with my supplies. I used to hide the good stuff from them, but recently let them choose what ever they wanted to use because I will likely never get around to using it!

I learned about the cinch tool, but it’s not a cinch … I can’t recall what brand it is… and HAD TO HAVE it immediately. If was on sale (JoAnne’s maybe?) and my husband, who always indulges me, drove me for forty minutes to acquire it. This was probably 2006. Then the mad dash to get the coils.
I have never even taken it out of the box.
Bind-it-all! That’s what it’s called.

I have never even taken it out of the box. Bind-it-all! That’s what it’s called. OMG....the bind-it-all brings back memories! i HAD TO HAVE IT too. i drove 45 miles to the nearest store to buy it. i think it was $50 back then. considering there was no other binding option, it was fine. but that small gadget was not steady and you could only bind about 4" at a time. because it was unsteady, you had to use both hand to steady it while punching and then you make sure you applied the same pressure to get the coils to look the same when they closed. nevertheless, as a tool hoarder, i bought the pink bind-it-all when it came out. no major improvements. it was just the latest version so, like a crazy person, i had to have that too. then The Cinch came along. <<cue heaven's choir singing>> now this was the binding tool the BIA only wished it could grow up to be. the base was bigger and more sturdy. you had a wider punching and coiling area. the handle only required one hand to use. i could go on and on. LOL. and like a true tool hoarder, i started with the Cinch with round holes and then bought the one with the square holes when it came out. (or was it the other way around? i can't remember.) one machine in blue and one in yellow. now they have the "mini" but that just harkens back to the BIA days so i'll just stick with the full size machines i already have.

Reminds me that last year dh wanted me to pick out something for my bday gift. I thought I needed to get some new scrapping tools so I asked for a Cinch and Minc. Both are still in the boxes unused.... but I hope they'll come in handy someday!

I rarely complete an album full stop. I’m always missing an event or a day or some embellishments or photos. I’ve mostly made my piece with it but it’s just more fun to move on to new things. I have learned to always keep old Dec Daily albums around while working on the current one bc I can usually get a few more pages complete in the old ones while working on the new one! It’s funny but true.

My confession: I have spent hundreds of dollars on stamps in recent years because I like the IDEA of stamping. But 9 out of 10 times, I don't include any stamping in my projects.

My confession: I have spent hundreds of dollars on stamps in recent years because I like the IDEA of stamping. But 9 out of 10 times, I don't include any stamping in my projects. I have (mostly) resisted buying anything but the least expensive of stamps at absolute bargain prices, and yet I somehow still have a whole shoebox full of them. That I never pull out and use. It's a curse I tell you!
