Political violence - Not a both sides argument

The Republican attempts at both sides are tiresome, but the attempt at both sides of political violence is particularly offensive and false. Republican politicians have normalized, downplayed, whitewashed, overlooked and made excuses for violence to the extent that a higher percentage of Republicans believe political violence is acceptable.

Violence is unacceptable whether from the left or right, period. But we can’t allow GOP leaders to get away with this false moral equivalency. They are evading their responsibility for their extremist rhetoric that all too often motivates extremist actions.
Political violence in America is being driven primarily by the far right, not the far left, and the far right is much closer to the mainstream of the Republican Party than the far left is to the Democratic Party.
Violence from either side is unacceptable. Full stop. The Republicans need to condemn the attack on Speaker Pelosi's husband and leave out their buts, attempts to blame Democrats, victim blaming, snarky comments etc.
