donna was a long time Pea who was taken from us long before her time. Her last scrapbooking effort had been to complete her kids' albums before time ran out. Many Peas, coordinated by jenjie and myboysnme , helped with that project. A Pea we have not heard from in a long while, kiwigirl , set up this challenge to keep Donna's memory alive. So now we honour Donna's memory by getting our own photos onto scrapbook pages while WE have time to do that. Each month we set a challenge to get those photos glued onto pages. And we also have a theme. November's theme will be GRATITUDE. Think of this as an opportunity to scrap those Thanksgiving decorations and family gatherings. But also as a way to reflect on those people and things in our lives for which we are grateful. In loss, feeling grateful for what WAS is healing while we grieve for what ISN'T. If you are looking for ideas for photos or journaling, check out the list in the Gift of Gratitude Challenge. If you are scrapping as part of a team, and are earning points, take one point for every photo you scrap this month, no matter the subject. Take TWO points for that photo if it captures something related to this month's theme. And THREE points if you took that photo in November 2022. Take FIVE points for journaling about why you are thankful for someone or something And take TEN points for scrapping any page that represents our NOVEMBER theme: Gratitude. And hey, points junkies, you can definitely double dip your points for this and the Gift of Gratitude Challenge!
But if you are NOT a member of a team, please don't let the points turn you away. We would love to see your Donna Challenge pages.
Please share your November DONNA challenge takes in this thread. I will try to get my own page in here soon. Tagging Eddie-n-Harley

My gratitude journaling is not on this page, but I will write it here. I may actually print it out and attach to the back of one of these pages. Fall Family Fun by Gramma Dee, on Flickr I am grateful that AUTUMN, before Winter robs us of all the summer warmth and colour, treats us to the gorgeous fireworks display of fall leaves to photograph and preserve to be scrapped as autumn slips away, and provide vibrant pages to bring joy when flipping through albums on those long dark winter evenings. I am grateful for family members who are willing to come out and play in the leaves to humour Gramma Dee with her camera before Grampa Al gets everyone organized to sweep up those leaves and deposit them on the garden. This time of year around here is like Game of Thrones: "Winter is coming!"
Grateful for the nutrients and fiber these leaves provide for next year’s garden. And the HOPE that comes from believing there WILL be a garden next year. That hope brings me the sights and smells of spring and summer, the taste of freshly picked garden bounty.
So grateful that the photo shoot turned into a fun leaf throwing and wrestling match bringing out giggles and grins that not only make awesome photos but also live in my auditory memory and make me smile whenever I think of this day. I am grateful for this hobby of scrapbooking that lets me play with all these fall colours and fun photos. For a friend who printed out the 12x12 background photo from one I took of the leaf covered ground in our yard.

I have another LO for this challenge. So Thankful by Gramma Dee, on Flickr I am so grateful we live on a farm where we have the space and equipment to grow a vegetable garden. I am thankful for the weather conditions that may not always result in a bumper crop, but do so just often enough to keep us hoping for another one. I am thankful for being mobile enough to walk down there to do the planting, weeding and harvesting. And I am thankful for my dd and family who come to help us plant and weed and harvest. An operation like this needs young backs. And I am also thankful for the excitement of finding that perfect produce reflected in the eyes of a 9 year old. There is something magical about seeing the first shoots popping out of the ground, and the way one little pumpkin seed can create a plant that spreads over several square feet. And oh, the taste of freshly picked veggies! The memory of the flavour of that first bite into a tomato fresh from the vine or the crunch of a new carrot or celery stalk is enough to sustain us through the long dark winter months.
