I'm looking to get a full set of ink cubes. I can't decide between these two. Do you like one? Dislike one? I have full set syndrome so...
I have the set of Hero Arts Ink Cubes and find them awful to stamp with.

I have all the Gina K cubes and they stamp great. I don't have any SSS cubes so I can't compare.

I have gina k cubes and they stamp ok, but nothing special IMO. And I find it hard to ink a stamp from the little ink cubes
Are you talking the newer "pawsitively saturated" inks by Simon? Because I REALLY like those. They are similar to the Catherine Pooler inks and pads. I only have a green trio so far, but plan to buy a couple more of the 3-colour sets. And just to put it out there: have you considered the Catherine Pooler "mini" ink pads? I think they are better than the gina K. The pads are larger than a traditional ink "cube", so way easier to ink your stamp. Lovely colours. And you can get the "mini" ink pads in sets.

I have the Gina K cubes and think they are fabulous. I have the SS Pawsitively saturated full size ink pads. They are very different types of pads. Gina K is the traditional felt pads. Her colors blend beautifully. SS are foam pads. Super easy to over ink, very soft and juicy. Colors also blend beautifully. I've read you need to re-ink foam pads more frequently. I haven't had mine long enough to come to that yet.
Are you wanting to stamp, ink blend, etc?

I like them all but still prefer felt over foam so only have one mini set of Catherine Poolers, and she says they need re-inking more often than felt, if I recall. I don’t have the SSS hybrid ink cubes, just some mini Archival.
I would marry the SSS Pawsitively Saturated colors that come in trios (even though Oxides are my desert island inks). But they don’t come in cubes… yet? Anyone know if that might happen?
I think Gina K's as a whole set are just a bit more toned down than some other companies full sets. Not a criticism and she does have light and bright colors.

I believe the SSS ink cubes are hybrid. I don't like how they stamp. They may even be similar to Hero Arts. I do love the Gina K inks.
Have you looked at The Stamp Market ink cubes? Theirs are the foam pads, they come in color combos and the colors are beautiful!

I use Gina K inks and love them. I also have SSS inks and like those as well. It just depends what I am using them for to determine the ink I use. I would love to try the Catherine Pooler inks!

Suggestion: buy a couple cubes in colors you like from several companies. You may have a favorite, or may like them all and do what Jennifer McGuire used to suggest a lot: buy by color and not just brand. I did that except for Distress. The other way I purchased was by properties, like Versafine Clair stamps extremely fine detail and 5-7 minutes after stamping (depending on climate), when the ink feels dry, they can be heat embossed. They also do super second generation stamping and even a little third. If you know you’ll have full set syndrome and want to stick to one brand, you still could try a few before you buy, since what some people like others don’t.

I’ve seen others post that TH has said they can’t make the oxides in cubes…can’t remember why though.

Yes, he’s said it in videos and lives, and it’s on the FAQ in the FB group that the formulation doesn’t allow for the small cube size, though once in a while he’ll say something like you never know, but not as a teaser.

I will second what @cardboxer suggested.... I did just that. I bought various cubes from different companies and waited a few months before deciding that I prefer Concord & 9th the best. I tried them out for different purposes, layering, fine detail, etc. I also like Catherine Pooler. I like Gina K also, but Concord & 9th was a tad better for some reason. I also use the Pinkfresh cubes for my Blur book stamping a lot bcz they don't bleed thru too much. I just wish C&9th would make more shades of colors. I have not used the SSS inks. SSS is too slow to ship, so I don't shop there. Good luck with your search!

tealpaperowl, what did you decide to get? Slightly off-topic, I was watching this thread to see what people recommended, as I need replacements for some of my ancient [felt] cat's eyes by ColorBox. These are my go-to inks for inking edges (which I seem to do a LOT). I had bought a bunch of the Cat's Eyes inks right before they were discontinued, so most of those colors are holding up pretty well. But my most-used (and oldest) Cat's Eyes are my set of browns/neutrals which I use all.the.time. and the felt has actually disintegrated on them (they're really old, LOL). I refuse to give them up until I have replacements...so I just ordered several Catherine Pooler inks in neutral & muted shades for inking edges. Fingers crossed! I have plenty of other inks for other purposes, but I like the felt type for inking edges. I'd love to get a full set, but I had to restrict myself to just a few colors!

I thought the CP inks were foam.
I like Distress (regular, not Oxides) for inking edges. And they come in cubes.

I have the full set of:
Hero Arts Ink Cubes Distress Inks Distress Oxide inks
Now I gotta go check out Catherine Pooler as I hadn't heard of hers
