We had a little (day old) baby deer in the yard this spring and I bought maybe 5 different lines of paper I thought would work... cuz that I how I roll. Last night I pulled it out and was chuckling at my lack of self control with the ONE picture I am going to scrap. So today my husband and I were in the back yard and I was refilling the bird feeder and he was filling the bird bath and we were just chatting about nothing when we hear, "Rustle, rustle." I told him not to move because there was a big ol' 8 point buck behind him (he was sitting in an Adirondack chair). This adorable fellow just kept coming closer. It is mating season and all of the males are chasing the poor females all over the place. So I was surprised at how curious he was and really how mellow he appeared. (Note: I did keep a nice tree between us as I took pictures.) So he got a drink, walked up pretty close to me, looked for spilled bird feed, and then walked about 10 feet away from us and just laid down while we continued to chat. About 20 minutes later, we walk back inside and he gets up and leaves. Such a weird encounter from a male. The first thing I thought when I whipped out my phone was, "I have paper for this!" This is Ron. (I name all of creatures who make a lasting appearance.) If you click on the last picture, it is a 2 minute video of his drink and my very close encounter. Lovely photos! The deer here in Florida are so tiny compared to this guy! He was a chunky boy. Our females are generally quite a bit smaller.

Cool encounter and what a lovely yard you have! Thank you. It was the reason we moved after 33 years.

What a beautiful animal. Looks like he loves your yard, and who wouldn't? Just gorgeous! Thank you. He was back again today with four of his ladies. I stayed a very safe distance away. He scampered up the boulders in the back yard (retaining wall) and walked right to us and just listened to us talk to him. Our deck does not have stairs. I think he would have stayed for dinner.

You know what this means, right?
If you have animal friends that come to visit you, that means you are officially a Disney princess now! 😊

I need inspiration I like these. Will probably choose the Mintay and Stamperia lines for the deer pictures. Forest Tea Party is cute too. I have a cute picture of a deer drinking out of the bird bath surrounded by turkeys. That could work. I figure until I get grandchildren, I'll just scrap the creatures.

950nancy Oh thankyou for sharing those great collections. I'm really loving that Mintay woodlands for a couple of things I have. All of them are wonderful so knowing me I'd be collaging several prints on a page.

These just are a bit different and I do love Mintay if I can use it.
