McCarthy getting aggressive with Bennie Thompson ... House Minority Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy in an angry letter to Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-MS) warned the Chairman of the U.S. House Select Committee on the January 6 Attack that his role will end on January 3 and it is "imperative that all information collected be preserved." The California Republican congressman had a dramatically different position on Donald Trump's unlawful retention of well over ten thousand items from the White House, including at least 300 documents with classified markings, including some classified at the highest levels.*** His letter, angry and accusatory in tone, also strongly suggests Republicans will hold their own hearings on the January 6 attack on the Capitol and on democracy, but with a vastly different focus.*** House Republicans, including McCarthy, spent million dollars on six Benghazi investigations, the last one of which McCarthy admitted was designed to harm former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's presidential aspirations. *** McCarthy continued, warning: "Although your Committee's public hearings did not focus on why the Capitol complex was not secure on January 6, 2021, the Republican majority in the 118th Congress will hold hearings that do so." He then served up what some might say is a threat."The American people have a right to know that the allegations you have made are supported by the facts and to be able to view the transcripts with an eye toward encouraged enforcement of 18 USC 1001." 18 U.S. Code § 1001 is the federal statute that makes it a crime to knowingly make false statements. McCarthy had a very different take when the U.S. Dept. of Justice executed a legal search warrant of Donald Trump's Florida residence and resort, Mar-a-Lago, to retrieve government-owned materials, including classified documents. "Joe Biden and the politicized Dept. of Justice launched a raid on the home of his top political rival, Donald Trump," McCarthy said on Sept. 1. "That is an assault on democracy." www.rawstory.com/mccarthy-letter/Some have suggested that Thompson could transfer some or all of the Committee's work product – all transcripts and other evidence – to the Senate.

Georgia GOP chair ordered by judge, overseeing Fani Wills Grand jury, to get his owe lawyer. He is more involved then just a fake elector. Judge Robert McBurney in the Superior Court of Fulton County, Georgia, said in a court ruling that David Shafer was 'not just another alternate elector' and that he must have separate counsel in an investigation probing efforts to overturn Georgia’s 2020 results,"reported Brad Dress. "Shafer’s 'role in establishing and convening the slate of alternate electors, his communications with other key players in the District Attorney’s investigation, and his role in other postelection efforts to call into question the validity of the official vote count in Georgia' separate him from the other 10 alternate electors, the judge wrote." The ruling means that Shafer cannot have the same legal counsel as the other electors. "McBurney is overseeing the court proceedings of a special grand jury in Fulton County investigating allegations that Trump and his allies wrongfully intervened to reverse now-President Biden’s victory in the state," said the report. "In the wide-ranging case, Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis (D), who opened the criminal probe last year, is investigating 16 Georgia Republicans who were offered as fake electors for the state in the 2020 election. The fake electors signed certificates declaring Trump had won the presidential election and offering themselves as official electors in order to certify Georgia’s election results for the former president." www.rawstory.com/georgia-republican-chair-had-substantively-large-role-in-trying-to-throw-out-election-results-judge/

Threaten that is all the Republicans in Congress have done is “threaten”. They have offered no viable solutions to problems the American People face. Just threaten.
And rumor has it the 7 day paid sick days for rail workers is about to get torpedoed in the Senate by the Republicans. The party that bills itself as the party that supports the working man or blue collar worker doesn’t think they should have paid sick leave. Go figure.
Why is it that the Republicans keep claiming they support the blue color worker but it’s the Democrats who do more for the working class through their policies then the Republicans who spend their time, when they aren’t threatening, trying to stop the policies that benefit the very people they claim they support? It is a mystery.

revealing the campaign apparently does not trust the 76-year old ex-president to make decisions about who he should or should not spend time with. Perhaps they should not ‘trust’ him to be president then?!? Maybe if his decision making skills are *THAT* bad he isn’t qualified to be POTUS? Just a thought

Ponder this, the trump lawyers are claiming all these people committed tax evasion or whatever in the organization and none of the trumps knew. Which means if none of the trumps had put in place any sort of internal controls to stop this sort of thing from happening they are not very astute businessmen. You would think a series of internal controls would be a given considering the size of the company.
Add this with all the bankruptcies the trump organization has had its hard to call the business or dumpster don successful.
But I think the trumps knew what was going on.

My my my..... Lawyers are refusing to go to court for Arizona Republicans... And they are due in court this afternoon! Cochise County, a deep-red county in Arizona that has refused to certify its vote tallies in the 2022 elections, is being hauled into court and it may not even have a lawyer there to defend it. The Arizona Republic reports that Cochise County officials this week were caught "flat footed" when the attorney they announced would represent them in court this week declined to appear in court on their behalf. Making matters worse, the newspaper writes, the attorney that he recommended to the county as an alternative also turned down their offer. www.rawstory.com/cochise-county-arizona/#cxrecs_s

There’s certain rules attached to that. Therefore they have more to loose

It is a mystery. It's not much of a mystery, it's steaming, odorous B.S. They clearly don't think much of the intelligence of their constituents, if they think they can just claim things & be believed. Granted, TFG just claimed things that weren't true, but they weren't believed. His voters just didn't care that he's a liar.

More threats. No solutions just threats… Does anyone need further proof that these people care more about pandering to the lowest common denominator of constituent than they do about the good of our country? Oh, and how about all that nonsense they spout about loving the military? Pffft.

Just caught a blurb on MSNBC. Did not hear the whole thing.
Judge in the law suit filed by Kari Lake and Finchum(?) has filed sanctions against them for filing factitious claims, no evidence, wasting the court's time..

Fuentes is over MTG. Says she is weak... White nationalist Nick Fuentes publicly broke with Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) after she disavowed him. The neo-Nazi podcaster plunged Donald Trump into a days-long scandal after showing up with Kanye West at Mar-a-Lago, but Greene and other Republicans have participated in events with Fuentes and his "America First" political action group, and the Georgia Republican angered him by saying she no longer wanted anything to do with him. "There's not anything that shows good character in her life," Fuentes said Friday on his program. "She's just weak. She'll go and say something edgy to get attention, and then when the pressure comes, she buckles. You know, she's going to be a MAGA mom and QAnon and all of that, and then the second Kevin McCarthy reprimands her and she loses her committee, she goes and apologizes, and she's going to say, 'Oh, Covid is like the Holocaust' -- oh, so edgy, wow, drink up all the attention, here's the attention you ordered -- and then the second it gets to hot, 'Oh, I'm sorry, I went to a Holocaust museum and nuh-nuh, nuh-nuh-nuh.'" "I'm over her," he added. "It's, like, and by the way, you know, she wants to be the face of Christian nationalism -- like, she's a divorced and she's, like, actively an adulterer. How are you going to be the face of Christian nationalism when you're a divorced woman girl boss. It doesn't even make any sense. I'm so glad I don't have to pretend to support that anymore." And more and more... www.rawstory.com/marjorie-taylor-greene-nick-fuentes/Just hard to listen to his tweet...

Won't this be fun... Question: Who is the House Republican Party looking to for policy leadership and ideas? Answer: MAGA Congresswoman Lauren Boebert," tweeted Democratic National Committee Chair Jaime Harrison, referring to the abbreviation for Trump's "Make America Great Again" slogan. Democratic strategist Sawyer Hackett noted that along with Boebert's new role, the Republicans are also expected to allow Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) and Paul Gosar (R-Ariz.), who have both advocated for violence against Democrats on social media, to rejoin congressional committees from which they were earlier removed. "This is the Republican Party after a catastrophic midterm underperformance," said Hackett. www.rawstory.com/trump-indictment-2658216153/#cxrecs_s

Sigh this is coming up again. This guy is an expert. And he may well be one. But regardless of what he claims you have to be able to prove that Hunter Biden typed each and every email on the laptop from him and that he personally uploaded all the information on that laptop. Good luck with that since the man is a drug addict and there is a problem with the chain of custody of that laptop.
