We broke our bed Thinking of replacing it with a king size adjustable, the only problem I see is that it comes as two mattresses and the split in the middle. We like to cuddle in the middle of the bed, will we fall in the crack? Or does anyone have one thats all one piece? How does that work for you?

I have a split king SleepNumber bed and I love it. Those bases are sturdy and the mattress will not move.

We bought an adjustable king that is one piece. I did not want to deal with sheets and blankets on a split and that there would either be a crack or a hump in the middle. Now that it’s just me, it allows me to sleep more in the middle (my husband would have told you I always did 🙃) and use the adjustable features without any seam.

We have a king sized tempurpedic mattress with adjustable bases. It works well, but if one side is adjusted a lot and the other side is not, you are a little tilted.
I sleep with my head raised a bit (wonderful for allergies/drainage and why we got the beds to start with.) DH raises his feet a bit, which helps with his restless leg syndrome. Neither of us notice each other’s adjustments. It’s only if we raise one side a lot that it’s an issue.
When we eventually replace this mattress, we will probably go with the two twin/split mattress just because it makes the adjustments easier. I think the crack issues will be minimal because the mattresses are incredibly heavy. Once you push them together, I don’t see them moving apart.

We have the split version and the crack does not bother us at all. We have two twin size fitted sheets and then one king size top sheet. We love it. DH sleeps very propped up but I'm usually flat.

We have a Sleep Number Split Adjustable king and we love it. It's two twins together but there is no crack. The mattresses are very heavy and do not separate at all. We use twin sheets on each mattress and a king top sheet and comforter. My brother and SIL bought another brand and there is a crack in theirs. I don't know the brand. We absolutely LOVE our Sleep Number.

We have a split top (we can each raise the top of the bed to what we want but the bottom is the together so it's either up or down on each side). The only issue is if one person has their top raised and the other doesn't, not much snuggling can happen. But raised the same or totally flat, you won't fall in the crack.

ours is one piece.
i would prefer the two piece one as i have to raise my head to sleep kind of a lot (congestion), so mostly i sleep on the couch. we got it at mattress firm.

We have the Sleep Number adjustable split king and I hate it. Very comfy, but I can totally feel the crack and hate it for cuddling. I wouldn’t purchase it again for that reason.
I don’t have an issue with sheets/blankets. We have twin fitted sheets and everything on top is king.
Is there a retail location you could visit and test in person?

We absolutely LOVE our Sleep Number. Ours gets delivered tomorrow, can not wait to get it. I plan to do the exact same, use the king sheet and comforter. We had an old ancient sleep number until 2.5 years ago. When we moved we went with something else. Big mistake, back to sleep number with all the bells and whistles

So much so that we returned the split king for a regular adjustable king. Cuddling was more important to us than split adjustable

We have a king tempur-pedic that is just 1 king mattress. Our base adjusts the whole mattress, not just 1 side.
We've only used the feet adjustment when DH had a knee replacement.
We tilt the head up when we watch tv and it's not an issue.
We only raise the head if one of us is sick (I get bronchitis and pneumonia a lot). And anytime one of us is sick, the other sleeps in the other room anyhow, so its never been an issue for us.

We had a split king mattress. The split was very noticeable and annoying during cuddle time. We replaced it with a regular king.

We have a split king which is 2 twins. There are two adjustable bases. We do not fall through the middle. The only thing I don't like about it is that the split makes cuddling more challenging. However, we do like the mattresses and I would do it again because we both have different sleep issues that make essentially having two beds work best for us. I know couples who sleep in completely different rooms. I'd much rather have 2 beds put together if that is what it takes to deal with the sleep problems and still keep us together.

We plan to get a king size mattress, our queen is 20 yrs. old! But always one expense or another comes up, so it will be a while until we replace it. But I love the idea of two twin beds. No fighting over sheets! I currently sleep in college kid's room as I snore and keep my husband awake!
