I'm needing to replace my old, old 5" Fiskars micro point mini scissors.
I have several pairs that I've had for years. They seem to finally be getting kind of dull and not so precise. I'm sure they've been used for a lot more than just paper cutting and that has led to there "dullness". They were inexpensive, so sharpening at today's sharpening prices is not really an option.
I mostly use the small scissors for occasional precise (fussy) cutting and trimming or snipping cardstock, paper and ribbon.
Doing a quick search, I'm finding these brands as being popular - Cutter Bee, Fiskars, Tim Holtz. The rating are about the same and I'm not seeing a lot of difference between the brands. Does anyone have a favored brand or recommendation, pros or cons?
TIA

I used to have a pair of Cutter Bee small scissors but was never a fan. I didnt like how they felt in my hand/on my hand and they were always getting stuck on sticky items.
I currently have a pair by Fiskars that came in my set (regular pair and the small ones). I like them a lot. So far so good - they are like 3 months old.

I have Cutterbee and had another brand, but the Fiskars Microtip Easy Action are the only ones I love and could cut with ‘til the cows come home, because of the reverse action. So easy on the hand. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00114TK46/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1Also wondering if your Fiskars could be sharpened. They sell a “clip sharp” and a “universal scissors sharpener,” both on Amazon. I haven’t used them. ETA I forgot, I have the Tim Holtz also—they were given to us in a Stamp & SB Expo (as was the Cutterbee a different time). I like his larger scissors a lot, especially for cutting thick materials. But I wouldn’t use the little one for fussy cutting.

My go-to scissors are a pair of J.A.Henkels. I'd strongly favour a set that comes from a company who specializes in making bladed tools over one from a craft company. Was also happy with my titanium coated microtip Fiskars until the pivot broke.
Edit: It bears saying that scissors from craft companies are not necessarily bad - just likely to be more expensive. They don't manufacture the scissors but 'white label' or rebrand another company's product for their line. Thus, there's an increase of cost and no way of knowing where the tool actually comes from.

Years ago I bought a pair of Cutterbee scissors and they were awesome and lasted a long time. I bought a replacement pair and they weren’t the same quality. I’m looking for new scissors, too b

I love my cutterbees. I also have the Tim Holtz ones but do not particularly like the serrated edge for fussy cutting, I moved my pair into the kitchen where they have proven very handy.

They will be back in stock in November but I love the stamp market scissors. They are sharp, comfortable and amazing. Plus generally nothing sticks to them.

I have tiny 3” blade fiskars non spring hinge that I love, then for 4”? I had 2, one we r memory keepers spring scissors& one other brand of spring scissors. For me, I preferred the WRMK. I bought both on sale at a similar price so price wasn’t an issue. I let my DD keep the other ones when she moved out.
Here’s what I preferred on the WRMK - the button to release the scissor was easily accessible at the joint of the scissors while holding the scissor. The lock on the other ones was at the base of the arms and I’d need to undo the latch each time I picked them up and redo it when I put them down as I don’t like having them open on my desk. Yeah, yeah, it was a second of time but I just preferred not to do that.

Or 25 to send to your peapals. 😁 The Fiskars Microtip Easy action was given an Arthritis Foundation commendation for being easy to use and good for people without much hand strength. They’re easy to open or close when putting away with the thumb of the hand you’re holding them with—not two handed, IOW. I tried Cutterbees earlier this year when I got into card making. I don’t like them. I have small hands, but they rub against my thumb in an irritating way. I went back to Fiskars microtips (found a pair in with my embroidery stuff) and I love everything about them. The Cutterbees haven’t been pulled out since.

I have the Fiskars micro tip spring scissors and the Tonic Studio ones. I like the Tonic ones much better. They have a pointier tip. At least I think so. I’m not at home to double check and haven’t used the Fiskars in forever. And it comes with a cover.
But I did get them more than 10 years ago so that may make a difference.

My goodness. Who knew there were so many options?
Thanks for all of the info. I’m still researching, but I have Christmas cards to make so I need to get a pair soon.
Thanks!

Mine don't have a serrated edge. Love that the finger holes are larger and a little squishy, compared to the Fiskars or Cutterbees. I do have the 6" ones. Simon Says Stamp
