I had a very mild case of covid back in April, but was one of those unlucky folks who experienced post-covid hair thinning After recommending topical minoxidil, which my scalp did not like at all and actually accelerated some hair loss, my doctor prescribed an oral med and it's working - yay! But all these little baby hairs along my hairline are BONKERS. The new growth elsewhere on my head seems blend in pretty well but the ones in front are out of control. They are a couple inches long now, so at a stage that is too short to be styled but too long to be ignored. My hair is naturally wavy and this new growth has a strong wave that's not aligned with the rest of my wave pattern, doesn't want to cooperate with a part, and in general looks so weird. I'm grateful it's growing, but am at a loss at how to tame/hide it until blends better. I've never been good at hair styling, so if anyone has BTDT or has any ideas how to deal with this interim period, please send them my way. I'd be ever so grateful.

No ideas, but I'm in the same boat. I'm about a month behind you and my baby hairs are about an inch. Luckily, I currently have bangs and stick-straight hair, so the baby hairs are hiding under the bangs.

I don’t know if this would help or make it worse - but lately I do little braids along my hairline - it’s pretty cute and I get compliments on it. Maybe try that?
(I’ve noticed I have more short hairs sticking up - but I just assume it is bc my hair might be over processed) - my good friend also had an odd reaction to Botox that made her hair fall out (nightmare!)

What did your doctor give you? I lost a lot of hair after being sick with pancreatitis and then having my gallbladder removed not eating well for a couple of months. I had some B12 shots which I’m not convinced worked oh my hair isn’t falling out anymore but it’s not growing.

Oral minoxidil and oral spironolactone - I had a noticeable decrease in shedding hair within two weeks, and started seeing new hair growth within a month. I'm very pleased with the results so far. I have not had any side effects, but both (especially spironolactone, I believe) have a number of possible ones.

I didn't go to the doctor, but was "diagnosed" with post-covid hair loss by my hairdresser. ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png) She said in her personal experience and that of her clients it lasts about a month. Google said it can happen after any major illness and can last a few months and be a year or so before those hairs grow in enough to notice it feeling thicker.

I had a ton of hair loss last year from Covid. Probably 40% of my hair. My baby hairs did not match my curl pattern at all and stood straight out. I have curly hair and ended up spraying hairspray on it while wet to keep it contained in with the other hairs. It finally starting to I in on its own now. .

One way to manage the new growth along your hairline could be to try styling it differently. You can try using a mousse to make it more manageable.

I've a hair loss issue and am using minoxidil with betasone and not having a lot of luck. I've also had steroid injections.

I’m not very good at styling hair, but a touch of hair wax to tame them down might work. You just take a tiny dab and rub it between your fingers to warm it up, and use a light touch.

Maybe a texturizing powder would help the baby hairs have some grip and hold on to the rest of your hair. You could try Big Sexy Hair Powder Play or Powder Play Lite. Got2b Volumaniac Spray Powder if you want a lower priced product. I have powder play and volumaniac and they both work well. I have some baby hairs and wiry grays and these products do tame them. A little goes a long way with both products so start with just a little bit.

This happened to me too. My scalp is very thin in the back from losing hair drama. It is not cool. It continues to grow but I have tons of baby fine hairs along my forehead.
