That's how I started in 2022 (till it all fell apart): front was the review of the month and back was my OLW - I really liked it and will continue doing it this way in 2023. Do you share your layouts online anywhere? Not yet but might in our new group. I do have an Instagram acct but haven't used it in a long time, thinking I might revive it when I'm getting more stuff done. Although these kind of layouts I would not post there anyway.

Ok, so I was going to skip this project but my FoMO is getting the best of me. 🤦🏼♀️ Thinking of Light being my word. I need to let my heart be light in the new year. Also thinking of joy or gratitude as possible words. Anyway I kinda want to mix it up. Was thinking of trying a smaller format of 5x7 to keep it simple. But after watching the main kit video again I actually think 10x8 might be fun and that I haven’t tried the buildable albums yet. linhaz I love the idea of using the Joy album for your project. I finally got around to watching all the December videos and zooms. It sounds like the feedback they’ve gotten is people are having a hard time keeping up with all the content so cutting the Monday message for a year is a way to scale it back and see if it’s missed. I will say it’s a lot but it’s all good content. I don’t always watch the zooms in the same month but I find them all very valuable.

I know it’s a more personal project, but figured I’d ask. I went ahead and committed to this project. I bought the class and joined both FB groups. For those of you that have done this before, what format have you chosen (PL, mini album, TN, etc)? If you have a dedicated space for it, do you find you have enough content to fill up an album?

Might have to cover some journaling, but will share the design. I always use a 6x8 album. I planned on ordering a 6x8 album from Citrus Twist but then found a 6x8 album that I planned on using for something else and decided to use it. It was originally a 6x8 linen album from Ali, but I painted it yellow. I will always fill up a 6x8 album, but never more than one. For me, 3x8 would be too small to get everything in.

I usually use a 6x8 album. One year I used the Kraft notebook & folio. All of them are full and pretty much busting at the seams.

My MIL bought me the 2023 class for Christmas so I’m in. 2022 was such a bust for me with this project, worse than previous years. I think “Home” was just too loaded given moving across the country, not being able to find a “home”, and as of a week and a half ago, moving back after deciding the Pacific NW just wasn’t right for us/our family. Funnily enough though, I am ending the year with a new home, a whole new perspective about home (after spending years thinking the Pacific NW as my real home, turns out it isn’t anymore), and feeling optimistic about our future here so perhaps home was the right word after all. It’s funny to me how this project can come full circle like that. I’ll add something about that to my album and call it good. So after the past year, my word for 2023 is “ease”. It showed up as a whisper this summer and has gotten louder. I want to ease into the transition, look for ease as a new mom, bring back my mediation practice to ease my anxiety, and ease into the smaller moments of joy in the everyday. I like the idea of going back to previous years if a prompt isn’t working for me. Love the idea of our own facebook group. Thanks mom for putting that together.

So the main kit this year does not include any of the 3x4 cards normally included. You have to buy the class to get them….is that correct?

I bought the class and just looked at the digital package included of the main kit. There aren't 3x4 cards in there, so she must be giving them out monthly maybe? The files included in the digital package are: 4x6 monthly journal cards 7x8.25 vellum sheet 11x8 papers cardstock label quotes cardstock page (looks like a cut file) chipboard butterflies die cut page dividers Kraft pockets + cards Plastic phrases Prompt Pages Tab Sticker Sheet

Thank you, sonnejo for posting the coupon code! I started out strong in 2022 with my word COMPLETE, but it fell apart for me several months in and then life got crazy in the Fall and I never got back to it. I've been thinking about my word for 2023 and I think I am going to continue with COMPLETE. I plan to focus on COMPLETE in two ways: 1) I want to do a COMPLETE declutter of my possessions. I own way too much for one person and all that physical clutter stresses me out. Clearing the clutter would be a start to bringing in the peace that I am looking for in my home. 2) I want to COMPLETE my unfinished projects. I am the queen of starting projects. I love the planning and the buying and the initial stages. I am horrible at finishing anything. I want to examine each of my projects and decide if they are worth completing. If they are, great! If not, then I want to get rid of them. I think a FB group for us to share our progress would be great! i am tossing around decluttering. My mind, my body, my house, my yard, I think it sums up where I want to be a year from now. Someone mentioned picking a 12 letter word, for concentrating on different areas each month. So I have been mulling over words for each letter that fit. Like D for digital E for electronic g for garden but I’m having trouble knowing what was really meant and I can’t find the post again.

I put together my album last night and realized that I'm going to need to use my digital files from a previous year to work on the January prompt. Not a huge deal since I usually type my responses, but it's still the first time they weren't in the physical kit--and it looks like they aren't in the digital kit, either. It was also weird cutting away the black and gray sections of the 10X8 papers so they could be 6X8. I'm not sure how I'll use the scraps. Still undecided about the class. I wish I knew how they plan to streamline the class so it's not overwhelming. Finally got around to listening to Lucrecer's response to the December prompt and realized how much I'll miss her if I don't take the class. This is how they get me!

I have picked a word finally. I was thinking underreact but I have instead decided on chill. Because I think it encompasses the things I wanted plus could be used for freeze like spending freeze or freeze on certain things.

I just bought the class yesterday. I thought I had my word picked out (light) but this morning a new word (time) has come to mind. Has anyone ever changed words this close to beginning the project?

I am going to jump in on this thread then catch up on reading it because I got a bit behind, whoops.
I have chosen a word every year since 2015 and this is one of my favorite projects. In 2022, my word was ENOUGH and it was a great word. I fell behind, though, on the project because some of the prompts didn't inspire me, I was working digitally which I think I struggle to stay motivated with because I can't see the physical progress, and I just had a super busy year. In addition to doing the monthly prompts, I added my own reflections page, a calendar + quote, and some project life style pages focused on my month from a more personal growth perspective. I usually just close the book on my project with whatever I had finished by December 31 and move onto the next year, but this year I really want to finish my album for ENOUGH but I just can't work on it until late January (currently working on class content for a class I'm teaching!).
For 2023, I've chosen the word FUN and I'm already super excited about it. I'm going to use the folio with the blank notebook that comes inside and I'm excited for a different format and already have some super fun ideas. I also am going to simplify and not do the project life style pages and really just do the prompts + monthly intro page + monthly reflections. I might add some other stuff here and there, but I'm not entirely sure yet. I am going to start this project in early January and will work on it alongside finishing up my 2022 project.

I really enjoyed the January prompt videos. I’m really loving the kit this year even the butterflies lol (I think it’s the gold). I really like how she changed up those prompt cards a little bit. I think I’m always weary of change at first but end up liking it and Ali always seems way more inspired when she changes things up.
Not sure if anyone caught her IG Q&A but she talked a little bit about some upcoming non subscription mini kits including there only being one DITL mini kit this year.

Yes I just decided to change my word from light to breathe yesterday. Breathe was such a good word for me. It was the first word that I actually completed a OLW project with.

Welp! A fellow Pea convinced me to sign up for OLW 2023! I had two failed attempts: 2015 and 2019. I always lose steam around March but hoping that will change with having an accountability partner and being more active in the support groups. My 2023 word is CREATE. I've printed all the January "things" and will be ordering a 6 x 8 album. Pretty sure I'm going with one from Citrus Twist. I also ordered myself an acrylic word. I always liked those!

I haven’t completed the manifesto because I was confused by it until the mid-month content helped clear up some stuff for me. But then I was busy with other stuff and didn’t have a chance to get it started. I’m looking forward to completing it soon. Haven’t had a chance to do the March stuff yet. I watched the first video up to the point that Liz was going to start doing the questions, and I didn’t want to proceed until I could actually do the responses. My word is joy and it’s a really wonderful fit so far. It’s exactly the right word at exactly right time.

How is everyone’s OLW journey going living my word is going well (CONTINUE) - I've been continuing to keep up on 2023 scrapping, I've been continuing to work on older projects, I've been continuing my health journey (currently working on physical therapy and managing my glucose), I've been continuing to work on genealogy and my books to be read pile. And I'm doing a good job so far at sticking to what I'm already doing rather than adding new projects and goals and getting side tracked. I did some journalling in January and I may do some more as the year goes on but I don't think I'm going to do a project around my word, just see how it fits with my life and how focusing on it helps throughout the year. I did toss around the idea of a small scrapbook/notebook but so far...no.

February was a hard month for me and I just gave myself permission to move forward. My word is STRONG and I hate my word. But in past years, the years that I hated my word were the years I had the most growth so I am holding on to that. I haven't started March yet.

How is everyone’s OLW journey going. I officially ejected last month, without ever actually starting on it. I'm okay with this as next year will hopefully be less crazy at the start of the year so I will have time to settle into the process. Life is really kicking hard so far this year.
