I told my BF I really wanted a Cameo, and then he realised that he could use it for his crafty stuff too (he makes models). So we bought one! Arrived today and I've been enjoying playing around with the Studio software so far.
Any MUST HAVE accessories? Great sources of free cut files? I'm so excited about this!

How awesome that you can both enjoy it! There is a cameo sticky thread on this board towards the top. I'm sure that has lots of info.

How wonderful! I'm excited for you because I've decided to get one too!
May I ask where you ordered yours from? Did you get just the machine or a bundle?
I've been researching for awhile and decided on the Cameo 2, but I'm trying to find a good source and price.
Have fun!

I've been researching for awhile and decided on the Cameo 2, but I'm trying to find a good source and price. Have fun! I'm in the UK, and I got it on ebay. We pay a lot more over here I managed to find a good price on the cameo 1...I think the only difference is the touch screen? Decided I could manage with the old version to save about 60 pounds (maybe about 100 dollars? Not sure). I didn't get a bundle, just the machine. FurryPea thanks, I found the sticky and I will check all those links out. Am so excited with all the things I can make!

I have no experience with one. Just had to say congrats - I'd want to play with it all the time.

I love my Cameo! It's a great machine! One resource that is helpful is the Silhouette Plus forum. They have tutorials and can answer questions (but please search to see if someone else has already asked, since chances are that someone else has asked the question already). Here is a link to their forum: Silhouette Plus You can also check out YouTube for tutorials, too. Enjoy your machine!

Congrats! You're both going to love the Cameo. I honestly believe that it is by far the BEST crafty purchase I have ever made! Enjoy!

I caved and order a Cameo v2 bundle that came with a roll feeder, 4 rolls of vinyl and a C. Gull tool kit for weeding for the price of a machine alone. My daughter wants a cameo and this was cheaper in the long run than buying her a portrait. It came yesterday, but I have not had a chance to play.

Congrats!
I love mine. I actually use it just as much for crafts as I do for scrapping and that kind of surprised me when I realized it! Just this week I used it to cut a title for a layout, vinyl for a Christmas gift (made one of those "jingle all the way" shadow boxes that are all over Pinterest), cut a card stock Xmas tree for DS to put stickers on for a craft, and tonight I'm going to cut some vinyl to use on a casserole dish with glass etching cream for another gift. It gets used pretty heavily around Christmas!
