I am participating in a cookie/candy exchange next week. We bring 3 doz. and take 3 doz. home. I get the cookie part, is it the same for candy? DoI get I piece of candy for each one I bring or do you make small sample bags?
I am making a couple different kinds of candies and was thinking of making very small sample bags and each bag would count as 1. Would that be too much or does it not really matter?
TIA

I would do less for candy, too. candy is more expensive to make and much richer. people eat less of it.

I would ask the organizer how it is supposed to be handled. I definitely wouldn't guess!

I make pralines and fudge for my cookie exchange. They get 6 pralines and 7 pieces of fudge in a tin. We have fewer participants so everyone goes home with a dozen from everyone who attended ~ usually 7 people.

Ask the person who is organizing this event. Follow the rules, so everyone gets the proper amount. Any leftovers can be mailed to me

I am one of the organizers, but not in charge of the cookie exchange. I will double check tomorrow and go from there. Thanks for the advice.

I would expect one piece (example: one caramel or one square of fudge) to equal one cookie. I would think that a large piece of bark (6x6 at the minimum) would be sufficient to cover a dozen. While candy is richer, I could see people taking advantage of this and not giving a fair amount for this reason.

TIA smalltowngirlie: How was the exchange/swap? I'm hosting one for the first time this year. In your opinion what are the do's and don'ts based on what you participated in last year. Thanks.
