The sun just shifted enough to be shining in my eyes, but I don’t want to move because it feels so good. (There’s a foot of snow on the ground and it’s about 20° outside.)

It’s 3:15 and roommate is watching football in the other room. They just said 35 yard return.
The Sun is out but it’s too cold to put the parakeets out.

The second half of the Cowboys / Packers game just started. It’s freezing outside, here in DFW. Perfect day to enjoy the pot of chili I made yesterday. Go Cowboys. 💙🏈💙

Just finished dinner and my belly is full. I’ve settled on to the couch to read before turning on the tv. It’s 6:15 pm, 2 degrees celsius and pitch dark outside. Looking forward to watching the premier of Yellowstone Season 5 tonight.

It’s 6:18. I’m Good by Bebe Rexha is on the radio. We just got out of church. We’ve been attending a very progressive church and the sermon was great! We’re on out way to meet DD and DGS for dinner.

It’s 6:26. I’m in my art room painting Christmas cards, listening to jazz music - don’t recognize the song. It’s dark outside, I have lemongrass essential oil in the diffuser and a glass of wine beside me - which so far I haven’t tried to clean a brush in!).
I’m just thinking about heading up to the kitchen to make dinner.

It is 4:39 pm. The sun went over the mountains an hour ago and I can hear some turkeys giving their unsolicited opinions outside. I have a dog who does not understand (nor cares to try to understand) the time change. She is on my shoulder breathing hard and sighing every few minutes. No music, no tv. Just turkeys and heavy breathing.

The day has been sunny but the sun has set and darkness is creeping upon us.
TV is on a football game of some sort, but the volume is silent. DH is watching.
I am alternately reading a book and checking internet messages.
My Thanksgiving decorations are on the coffee table.
We had our first frost of the season this morning and may have a freeze tonight.

Football is on tv.
The fireplace is going.
We just had dinner, homemade potato, broccoli and cheese soup.
I’m in my Christmas pjs for the first time this season and I’m sitting with a Christmas blanket over me.

It’s 7:46, I’m relaxing on my bed with Alexa playing Christmas music as I’ve just spent the last couple of hours organizing Christmas gifts and stocking stuffers that I’ve been hiding in my closet as I pick up things all year. It’s dark and rainy and the temperature is 4°C

It’s 10 minutes to 8 pm. I’m with one of my sons and daughters-in-law out of state to visit two of my grandbabies. The boys are 2-1/2 years and 4 months - fun ages! Another DIL just left after having dinner with us (beef Wellington, mashed potatoes, and salad). The son that she is married to is out west for work.
No music playing but “Spidey and his Amazing Friends” is on the TV. I’m cuddled up with the 2-1/2 year old watching with both my dogs nearby as well. Lights are dim. And bath time is fast approaching. I feel very fortunate to be here soaking up sweet time with their family.

Any conversations going on? 7:54pm No song playing - one kid is using headphones, and DH is watching some nonsense on his phone LOL No birds. Never birds at night here. No conversations. I'm watching the online tracker to see when we should go pick up our Sunday night pizzas. We'll take the dog with us to pick up the pizzas, thus killing 2 birds with one stone (nighttime dog walk + getting dinner). It's chilly out, but not so bad that I regret getting carryout instead of delivery! LOL Feeling fortunate that we can walk to the pizza joint to get dinner. One thing I dearly love about NYC is walking to most of my "errand" destinations. |

Son just walked in the door from down the hill playing with Jello in his hand.
No Time to Die is on TV and DH is watching it.
Lasagna is cooking in the oven.
My cameo is cutting letters for my kids yearly pictures scrapbook I'm making for my mom.
My daughters iPad making noises because her friends are calling her on FaceTime.
Yes- really, ALL of that happening at this moment! My house is NEVER quiet and peaceful unless everyone is in bed.

It’s 5:53 pm. DH, the cats, and I are sitting in a dark living room surrounded by candles. We’ve lost power for the second time in a week. That’s island life! I have a cat snoring on my lap and I can hear our neighbor’s generator humming. Power has been out since 8:00 this morning. Luckily, it was a clear and sunny day!

It's 9:06. I just made an entry in my journal after DH and I watched our evening streaming show - Nothing Trivial season 3 tonight.
It's dark of course and getting cold. Supposed to finally be below freezing tonight.
I can hear the grandfather clock ticking as the only sound other than my typing. I hadn't wound that clock in years but just had a notion to on Friday. I turned off the chimes though so it doesn't wake us at night.
