Just wondering if anyone else watched. I watched as it recorded instead of the Good Doctor last night and decided to watch. He really didn’t say much. Said he was mad when he saw the capital being ransacked but didn’t say much about former. I expected some comments but he seemed to just say it will be up to the American people to decide. He was so careful not to say anything about former. I didn’t expect him to trash him but though he would have said something harsher than he did.

I watched too and as you said, I didn't really expect him to say much and he really didn't. I thought he handled the questions well without saying what he really thinks about Trump. When asked if he thought Trump would run in 2024 (or perhaps if he'd support his run),he basically said he thought the Republicans would have a good selection of candidates (meaning Pence himself I am sure). Nothing eye opening or reveling but he seemed as honest as he could be without saying specific negative things about Trump.

Former KNEW Pence's family was in the Capitol. We all did via TV coverage. We know he watch the insurrection probably on more then one TV, different channels!

I can’t imagine being able to refrain as well as he did when he knew that former basically sicked a mob on him and knew his life was threatened. That he knew better than to get in the car still impresses me and that he knew they would remove him. While not a fan at least he did his duty that day.

He didn't deserve what Trump did to him in the end. However, I will never vote for him because I read that he said he had no regrets about joining Trump's ticket because Roe was overturned. He really learned nothing about what kind of person should be in the Oval office.

If he's going to run against the former president he's going to need to step it up and have some criticisms.

He didn' point-blank criticize Trump and point the finger where the blame for 1/6 belongs, IMO, is because he doesn't want to openly disenfranchise the Trump-leaning Republicans. He hopes that he can walk the tightrope and still court their votes. Which is pathetic because Pence doesn't stand a chance. I’m willing to bet that Trumper-leaning Republicans will either vote for Trump (if he announces tonight) or DeSantis (another shudder).

He didn’t do what he was asked to do snd it’s all his fault that Trump isn’t in office. Those that aren’t MAGA I could see them voting for him as he stood up to trump but then not because he won’t say anything against him. I feel he will be knocked out of the running quickly.

I did not watch it, but if I had, I would not have expected him to say anything at all of substance. He is a milquetoast politician, who only agreed to an interview to sell his book which is coming out soon (or perhaps today). IMHO, he only cares about how it might help sales....

Personally I feel he partook in the rhetoric that led up to Jan 6th. While his actions that day showed some integrity, I still think he was a bit of a coward to dance around Trumps actions and not condemn them publicly on TV.

The idea that anyone, especially supporters of the former guy who were chanting "hang Pence" on Jan 6, would vote for him is a special level of delusion.

MAGA Republicans don't like him because he didn't overturn the election. Independents and liberals won't vote for him because of his far right, evangelical views on abortion and other things. After the elections over the summer and Tuesday were resounding victories for abortion rights advocates, you would think he would reconsider running for President. No one likes him.
