I literally cried when I realized that the original 2PeasinaBucket.com was gone forever. That was such a sad day! And I was ecstatic to come across this forum and realize "The Peas" are still hanging out together on the internet. YAY!!! *sending you all virtual hugs* I am so glad you're here. But whatever happened to "The Pub"? Is it here on this board, somewhere, and I am just overlooking it? Or did it not get resurrected along with the other subforums on this board? Wondering this, because that subforum was where I spent most of my time "lurking" when I checked in at the original TwoPeas. I was only ever on one design team (Clear Scraps) and I only ever had cards published in one magazine (The Stamper's Sampler) back in the day...so I didn't actually post in the forum all that much. But I loved reading all the other designers "Toots" and cheering them on -- and I also loved it that there was a repository for design team calls, guest designer calls, publishers' editorial calendars, etc. Just curious...

My history doesn't go back as far as the original 2Peas board, but I haven't seen anything akin to "The Pub" around here.
Welcome back, regardless!

The Pub didn't make the transfer from the old board. The closest thing I've seen to it on this board is someone posting that made a team or a company posting they were having a call.
Welcome back!

Hello! So nice to have new members (or old members back)! Hi Marg! Nice to "meet" you (or maybe I should say "nice to see you again!"? But it's been awhile, haha)

I love when former peas find us. Welcome back.
I think when magazines died the whole Pub idea went with them. Although now I guess getting on a design team would be the same thing.
We have one pea that is on the design team for Not Just For Boys. Do we have any other peas on design teams?

I hung out on the Pub! I was on a few design teams and was thinking I would like to do more with DTs and magazines...the Pub cured me of that because I realized what a lot of work for no compensation it was Even my DTs made me start to lose my joy of scrapbooking. I have no idea where most of those peas went. I honestly have a terrible memory for those years (3 young kids?) so I don't remember names, and I think many have probably dropped out of the industry now? Glad you found us!

Probably already been said but since the magazines pretty much died out so did the ability to be published. Of course there are videos and all that sort of thing that people get known by. Frankly, the pub dissolved into such a popularity contest and a mockery was made by the efforts to choose the best of the best. It was better that it was not resurrected in any form over here. We have enough trouble keeping divisiveness at bay.

I never even visited The Pub on the old board, and from all the negative things I've read about it here, I can understand why it wasn't resurrected here. But anyway, welcome back amysolovay ! I think that KikiPea is also on a design team.

I’d love to do more with DT’s, but I don’t have a good set up for doing videos, and Lives are out for me. I also don’t have my own scrappy blog, so they’d have to only require that I post on their blog and IG. Maybe some day there will be one for me that would be a good fit, but if not, it’s okay. I’m fine just scrapping for me!

Thanks, everyone, for the info and the warm welcome. I really appreciate it!
Grammadee, thanks so much for the links! Fantastic finds!
AussieMeg, really? I only visited the message boards section of the old 2Peas site occasionally, so I am sure I must have missed a lot of drama at the Pub (which is fine, because I try really hard to avoid all overdoses of drama that are not directly related to an actual theater production). But I honestly remember NSBR as being snarkier and the Pub posters as being fairly supportive of each other. Truth is, though, I only visited NSBR a couple of times before concluding that I had to stay out of there, so maybe I just chose a bad couple of days to visit that section of the 2Peas forums.
Anyway, I learned so much from the Peas, and I am soo glad to find you all here, still scrapbooking. YAY!

I’m fine just scrapping for me! KikiPea, thanks for the info about the Paper Issues monthly challenges. I'll look forward to checking them out. I totally get what you're saying about having to find a team that's the right fit. I'm sitting here thinking about how different the world is now than it was in 2009. I sort of have the same problem you do when it comes to videos. On one hand, I'm totally set up to do videos. My husband and I both used to work in the Hollywood film industry, and he used to own his own local TV channel. We have all the gear, all the editing software, and all the skills to write scripts and actually produce top quality videos. But the problem for me is that DH isn't going to get out any of that stuff and put the effort into making videos unless a real paycheck is involved -- and, as far as he is concerned, some free scrapbooking supplies do not qualify as a real paycheck. So, it's about the same as not having any setup at all.

Kitbop, those are interesting observations. You're right, it can be a lot of work for not much compensation. I can see that it would not be at all worth it if it was turning scrapping into a chore for you rather than a joy. I think maybe I got really lucky with the one design team I was on. The owners were wonderful people, and they were really cool to work with. They were also owners of a local scrapbooking store, and they organized product swaps with a lot of the manufacturers that they did business with in their store. So when they'd send me a DT box, it didn't just have their products; it had a ton of cool stuff in it -- adhesive, tools, papers, ribbon, and just about every type of embellishments you could think of. If I needed anything at all, I could get it from their store at a generous discount. Beyond that, they were manufacturing all their products in the USA. They designed and actually made the products themselves, and they hired a company that empowered disabled people to do their packaging. I loved their products and felt really good about supporting their small business. Sadly, those days are gone. Their scrapbooking store has long since closed, and they sold the business to new owners at about the same time my term on their design team was finished. I am not sure where they ended up or what they are doing now, but whatever it is, I wish them well. The company is still around and still making the same sorts of products, but the company has different owners now. I wouldn't hesitate to buy from them, though (although I still have a massive supply of their products left to use up...)
